I am adding Gallente skills to my Amarr /Minmatar skills. I have @ 27 mill sp so Im not new, but may need to improve some skills to use a Dom properly.
I have pretty decent drone skills, I can use tech 2 scouts, need 23 more days for tech 2 heavy though:( I have alot of the advanced drone skills between 2-4 skill level. I have just picked up sentry drones 1 so far.
My mechanic skills are all at 5, the new advamced passive armor skills are all at 2 so far.
13 mill in gunnary so I have all the secondary skills, but just added the hybrids so I know I need to train them up more.
I am looking for all you advice, especially from current Dom users,
Thank you.

Well the reality is you are probably already there
Only things i can add are If you going to go the popular NOS Domi then Energy Emission Systems And since you are using Minny ships you also probably have Trajectory Analysis III which allows you to use the Drone Tracking Link check out this for other drone modules, all handy http://www.eve-online.com/itemdatabase/shipequipment/turretsbays/weaponupgrades/droneupgrades/default.asp

Bring the Drone skills all to 4, then, if you like to use the dominix and its primary weapons the drones, bring heavies up so you can use TII Heavies. Training Gal BS to 5 does not hurt either, if you stick with the dominix. If you only use the Dominix now and then, you might not need to max out the Heavy- and BS-skill, that depends on your skill plan.
With 27M skill point you should have secondary skills for energy grid, cpu, tanking etc. at a decent level. If you like the drones consider the high and midslot drone modules for greater dominix experience.
The turrets on a dominix are not the primary weapons on many dominix layouts. so you might not need to train them that fast. -- bye, Ki Shodan

Drones to 5 Drone Interfacing to 3 or 4 Combat Drone Operation to 4 Heavy Drones up to 3 or 4 Scout Drones 4 or 5 if you wish to specialize Optional: Racial Drone Specialization (Caldari, Gallente, etc.), Drone Sharpshooting, Drone Navigation, Drone Durability
The Big 3 Mechanic skills: Hull Upgrades to 4 (or 5 if you want T2 energized hardeners) Mechanic 4 Reapair Systems 4
Energy Emission Systems to 3 for Heavy Nos Energy Systems Operation to 3 or 4 (for cap regen)
I'm probably wrong and have been flying my dom wrong though

Anybody else notice that the Dominix is a flying piece of crap if you don't have the skills to fly it properly? I almost lost one on a easy level 3 because of my crappy skills a couple months ago..its is a BIG leap from a cruiser.
But PROPERLY skilled, it pwns. Big time.
Like mentioned before, you have all the mechanic skills to 5, which is super-important to the tanking ability of the beast, so you're fine there.
Gallente BS to level 4, I would think, 5 is a long proposition and only if you think you need that extra 10%...but 5 DOES prepare you to get into a capital ship eventually.
Drones tend to be (and rightfully so) the main weapon, so train up drone skills to all level 4 and 5.
Large turrets can't hit worth crap on anything but stationary targets and big ships, so I tend to ignore those for the primary weapons. NOS is good for PvP, not so good for NPC (too many targets!).
Whatever it takes to keep your tank up during the battle, and your drones alive DURING the battle and doing massive damage...thats what to go for. Most PvE you can just sit there and watch the drones do the work, blasting at things that get close, and railing the far away sentries.
But you probably know all that already. With 27 mil skill points, I dont think you'll have any problem flying it.
Now that I have been flying my Sta-Puft Dominix for a month or so, I'm getting good with it. Then again, I don't PvP offensively yet.
Good Luck! |

Drones to 5 Drone Interfacing to 4 or 5 Combat Drone Operation to 4 Heavy Drones up to 4 or 5 Scout Drones 5 Drone Sharpshooting 4 Drone Navigation 5 Drone Durability 4 Sentry Drones 4 Racial Drone Specialization 4 for T2 Drones and the Dmg bonus on them.
Get scout drone 5 then train the racial spec skill up to 3 or 4 so you can use mediums.
They eat smaller ships alive!

This is true of every BS out there. If you don't have the proper skills to use one, it's often easier to use a smaller ship. Just an FYI for new players rushing into BSes.
Take your time, you'll enjoy the game much more if you don't rush into the biggest ship out there.

If you want to fit the rails, then fit them first, and then work backwards from there, and fit to whats left. I would never fit an mwd in a million years, takes too much power and you really dont need it. In a battle a few days ago I had rails, hardeners, plates, cap rechargers and other stuff with no problems, and I only have weapon upgrades 2. Tanked like a maniac. I think for raw firepower the mega is the way to go, but the domi is a lumbering rhino of a ship. It.. just... keeps.. on... coming. Play to that.

May just be me but theres really no reason to put heavy guns on the domi at all. You get much better mileage with mediums, unless you 100% sure youll only be shooting BS', free's up room for whatever crazy setup you want to add to the rest of the ship aswell. My lv4 mission runner isnt even at 50% grid usage and about 60% cpu usage for ex and it rocks.

Lorette there is a topic on the forum for how to fit a Domi...and there are many using a bunch off bouth 425 mm and 350mm with 2 heavy rechargers and a bunch off hadners and other stuff...and I cant fitt more then 5 350...must be somthing I missed...I can go into lower guns...but still want to know why this is...and what skill I can have missed...but thanks for the tip off going for smaler guns any way =O)

I fly domi's and what you absolutely need is drone interfacing to lvl5.
t2 heavys without drone interfacing to lvl5 is what i call stupid..... as it will boost the sentries too and those are badass with gall bs lvl5, and drone interfacing to lvl5

and btw, if you're gonna use guns on the domi you should go with this: high: 6xdual 250mm rail t2
med: shield tank (YES!)
low: damage mods, tracking mod, damage control and whatever you feel like.
i dont bother with 350's or 425's on it as this setup can tank really well and deal very good damage( more than you can ever do with 350's or 425's anyway and thats a fact)
and use whatever drones that fit the situation. (EW/WEB/PAINT/SENTRIES/HEAVYS)

If you are going to do a domi justice then you need heavy drones V to use t2 drones.
They SHRED whatever you are fighting.
If you want to use it in pvp then get energy emission systems for nos, EW 4 for jammers and then you have your own little "win" button.

Much thanks to you for al your sugestions for fitting. Thay will probably come in handy for many. I have used 6 250 mm already for a year or somthing...want biger guns, and the drones both for short and long range...so I want to have less amount off guns but biger, and fit atleast one big thick nos on there to =O). So it was good tips. But non off ansverd the question I asked with my sec char Amidla.
"skills for more power for the fiting"

I dont know what your doing wrong to be hoinest.. bar maybe using too much t2 gear. I use t1 stuff a lot personally and it does me fine (ask the zealot pilot with t2 guns and ammo that took 3 minutes to chew theough my Domi of ultimate hardness recently, and I wasn't even tanked against Lasers. Btw before anyone asks, I was fitted for mining...) The problem with t2 is that it takes more resources to fit.
Maybe use the program Quickfit? Makes thinks a lot faster as you can do it out of game...
