Has anyone ever run this lvl3 mission? (solo?)
The first stage is to clear a bunch (around 10 drone ships) from a couple of gates which is fairly simple.
Stage 2 however jumps me right into the middle of a swarm (23) of caldari navy vessels and a HAC lasted about 5 seconds. I cant see a way of completing this mission without getting together a large fleet of fellow players and taking them on.
Another question regarding this is that the info says: "Get as far into the Amarr Complex as you can" apparently to get there engineers reconfigured a gate that used to lead to a drone hive so that it went to the amarr complex however "modifying these gates is always risky, and there's no time to test it"
Turns out the gate jumps into the middle of a caldari fleet. Now without firing or even locking on a ship every caldari ship attacks. Why would the caldari jump me? (I'm Minmatar)
Have tried jumping straight through the gate in case I am supposed to evade all targets except amarr but get the usual warning about having to take out all enemies first. Somewhat stumped here.
Any help at all will be appreciated.
[If stage 2 is to take on an entire caldari battlefleet god knows what stage 5 will be!?] |

I run it in a BC. You need to run active hardeners (shield or armour whatever you tank normally).
Brutix has good EM Armor resists so I use Ex, Kin and Therm Active hardeners (T1) and a T2 Armor Repper and a plate in my lows.
3/5 is an easy courier run 4/5 is an easier one stage version of 2/5 5/5 is 3 Cruisers and a few frigs
Kill the three blackbirds first and then concentrate on the rest.

I've soloed it in both a Thorax and Brutix. You cannot use drones in the Caldari section. If you launch your drones, the entire room will agro you.
I believe there are 4 or 5 groups in that area. You warp into the middle of a group and you need to take out the 3 cruisers first, then take out the frigates. Once you've cleared the first group, just take out each of the other groups one by one. After you've cleared that room, you might want to go back and refit from Caldari to Amarr for the next room.

Use a BC to tank and have a friend cover you in an anti-frig crusier.

Wow, so you actually solo this thing? Sadly my ship was set for gank. Guess I have to rethink things somewhat. |

have already replied to a the same topic elsewhere, the 2nd section in a Brutix is easy once you have taken out the 3 blackbirds, but they hit you as soon as you arrive plus some frigs at the same time, but they dont hurt, but will webifier you, I dont agree with the person who said dont use your drones, I can use 5 and used them in this mission which I have now done 3 times, once in a caracal but that was a 'little' difficult,
I also do not use any hardeners whatsoever, just shield boosters and shield extenders

At the moment most of my (limited) piloting skills are in the cruiser area (such as cruiser 5 and medium turret specialisation) Has anybody had any luck with this mission in a cruiser? In particular a minmatar cruiser as that is where my skills lie?
Following the above advice I am starting to think about maybe a rupture with ACs instead of artillery to free up PG and CPU and then use some sort of armour tank. Maybe dump a huge armour plate in (800mm?).
Regardless of choice it sounds like I better have at least one other person with me in the raid. |

Hi
I actually tried this, first time round in my Caracal, but it is / was tough and had to warp ot and back a few times, therfore I was unable to finish it as the 1 hour time was up, Its doable but quite tough, the three blackbirds lay into you as soon as you arrive and in a cruiser .... well its fun

This mission is a trap.
I ran it in a Hurricane and cleared the drones and the Caldari navy ships that followed, though it took multiple warpouts.
I warped into the third room and I guess I took too long to get there because the whole freakin fleet is there and I get warp scrambled and my beautiful Hurricane got turned into a pile of rubble. I wish I could salvage it but there's no way I'm going back in there. Too much lag and too much firepower.
Next mission please.

hey hey
Speed is definately your key. The mission is timed and you gotta be pretty quick.
if you have already missed the timer then there is a way you can reset your mission and retry. You could just bring a few corp mates along and kill everything.

I've solo'd this in my 'cane with a slightly modified PvE layout in the highs. Basically, fit the meanest active tank you can for kin/therm with maybe one speed mod, add a t2 AB and that should get you moving over 600 m/s. 5 650mm arties and 3 assault launchers + web lets you clear those webbing frigates without too much trouble, and then you can pull and engage the other groups at will.
Second room can be a nail biter if you just run for the tower and don't kill the Amarr ships guarding it. Killing everything takes a little time, but nowhere near the what, two hours you get before the "reinforcements" show up?
I don't know how I'd feel about trying to run it in a Rupture. I don't think the damage or armour is good enough to survive the Caldari room before you can get the webbers dead. Might try it just for fun though _____________________________________

This is hard, but not impossible.
I did it in a cyclone, first time with an ac setup (warpout, refit for range), subsequent times with the 'clone have been fine.
By the way, fitting close range setups in this mission will see you dead. Most of the cruisers hang at around 30km from memory and you will be bbq'ed if you try and close with them as the rest of the fleet will be on you.
I fit a fully active tank to my cyclone (target appropriate resists), and an AB. Use your drones to kill any webbing or scramming frigs while you try and run as fast as you can. Unfortunately I've found that if you're not careful your drones WILL get you some additional aggro, however once the scram/webbing frigs are gone you're fine.
Once you're gaining some distance start taking down the hardest hitting cruisers. After you've done this you should be able to tank the remaining ones with ease.
With the 'cane, i'd suggest dual MAR if possible and a cap booster to keep these running wile you gain ground. Also, while heavy missiles are great for the cruisers assualt launchers will let you clear the frigs much faster.
As I said, once you've taken out the frigs and the hardest hitting cruisers this is pretty straight forward.
Also, when you get to the last room, in the interest of saving your heart, tank the ships here til you get close to the tower, align, pop it, grab the can and GTFO. Don't bother hanging around here as god only knows when the support fleet will show.
Hope that helps. -- Achura, the best stats. Pity it had to be caldari.

HAH dude I been PVP'in in 0 sec for months and I came back to empire last night to run some missions and got this one. Lemme just say my SP had significantly grown since I last ran missions.
FIT BLASTERS AND YOU DIE
I had to fit some 250mm rails and attack at distance.
It a great mission IMO cuz I have not had a challenge in awhile from NPC's.
My fit FTW:
High:5x 250mm Scout Uranium Ammo
Mid:ABII, cap charger, 2x tracking PC
Low:3x Active hardners, MAR II, 2x Mag Stab II
