I am considering going for the Manticore instead of the Ferox for my pirate ship.
Overall is the Manticore a good ship for pirating?
How does it compare to the ferox for the same purpose?
Also can concord kill me if I am cloaked?

It's not a very good pirating ship. Ferox would be a better one. And when cloaked - Concord can kill you.

You going solo or group pirating?
Me and a mate had some fun with a stealth bomber/BC combo :)
Good gang ship, poor for solo (same as a few classes of ship out there... and remember - EVERYTHING is better in a gang).

A corpy of mine gate ganks with it. When i want to play around, i just get in a ship i can bump people with, and there you go

The people solo'ing in Manticore annoys me. They don't kill anything, and the only thing they can do, is shoot at you when you're fighting a third person - just top be a nuisance! So Lobo, please, stick to your Ferox, or any other non-cloaking ship, because a Manticore will get you nowhere in the pvp-business.
And yes, I know that they can be valuable assets in fleets etc., but I presume he meant for solo'ing

I use a manticore in PvP often, but solo all you get are lucky ganks or seeing your own pod,
Makes a great suport ship when you have a tacker to hold your prey down

It's great if you can get something big to act as bait, say a tanking BS with like five scrams to multitackle and draw in a frig swarm while you stay cloaked until they attack. Bit overly specfic but

hahaha Handon, are you referring to me?
If I'm solo then the Manti is just there to harass although I have popped one or 2 haulers and stuff. Main use is as ganky support to my other account or corpmates.
So yes, unless you are happy / able to operate like this stick with something more suitable.
