Hey there, First let me apologize if there's another topic on this subject - I'm at work and barely able to "conceal" my missbehaviour hihihi... so, no time for search buttons :(
Anyway, I got negotiation to lvl 1 a couple days ago, and noticed the first "5% increase on agent mission pay" wasn't applying. Simply put, missions kept yielding round amounts. IE, 32000, 26000, etc. A 5% increase would've made them look like 33600, 27300, etc as for the above given examples. Well that never happened.
Then I got it to level 2 (was a fast trainer anyway) and of course, nothing changed.
So, does the skill work? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance!

have you checked the actual payout in your wallet? dont know how skill works, but maybe the amount listed in description is not concidering your negotiation skill?

I thought exactly the same thing! Maybe the agent offers the basic, then it awards the full amount.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the case :(
So it really looks like it doesn't work at all.
Although tonight I'll ignore the green numbers and check how much it did really add to my wallet total. Handy calculator, the one the interface has :)

I wondered the same thing. I never calculated the before and after amounts but I should be getting 20% more now after training it to 4. It does not seem like I am making 20% more on the level 3 missions I am completing.

Dont worry there is no search button. These are the eve forums...not some modern forums you see on the interweb.

The negotiation skill does work, just not in the manner you are expecting. It is better than it says it is actually. Rather than giving a 5% increase to the income you gain from missions, what it does is increase all agents quality rating by 5 per level of the skill. So at level 5 a quality 20 agent is considered quality 45 before standing factors into it. You can see the change by viewing the agents info.

When I used to do a lot of missions, I ran missions for the same agent as a mate of mine.
I had negotiations 4, he had it to 5. I had a higher standing to the agent than he did. Both had connections level 4.
When it came to the extra bonus, I remember I used to get things like 1 unit of Assault Ships skillbook. For the same mission, he'd get the Heavy Assault Ships skillbook!
So, afaik, Negotiation has always made a difference.

Well then it's simply awesome, definitely way better than a 5% extra pay per level.
Getting this one up as soon as my priority list is done.
Thanks a ton for your imput!

Negotiation works in Effective Quality and also in r/d agents per points each day per level of negotiations. So it works :) -- Diplomacy is like saying "nice doggy" until u can find a bigger rock:) |

Pretty annoying that they messed up the skill description. I would have trained it when i was doing level 1 missions if i would have known this. Probably spent alot of time doing unneeded missions.
But better late than never.
