I've seen there are a few retail copies of EVE in my local game shops. Can I use the 1 month codes within them to top up my sub? They're extremely cheap, and i'd like to be able to take advantage of that.

It doesnt work like that im afraid
the reasons are many but one or 2 go like this, the box version is the old publisher before CCP took overwith digital distribution who are trying to clear out there stock and because CCP would lose a truck load of money if it were possible
btw i own 4 copys of the CD because i used to pay the 4.99 so i could have a hauling alt for a month :S

helpful manual?? it was out of date when it was released, it also includes only about 10 of the 40 ores, as well as only 4 ships per race.

Yes Rich Plagioglace etc, they didn't have that in the beginning

thier was only 10 ores to begin with the rich ect dident exsist yet -i still have my orgional cd case and manual as well

These codes are not trial - they are new account codes with 30 days of full featured gameplay. Basically instead of paying 20 EUR for new account on eve site, you grab this CD version for 4 EUR and make new account with included cdkey. However these keys can NOT be used to extend time on existing accounts, and I think they wont work on trial accounts as well.
