they just restrict gameplay.if security ratings were done away with people would have a reason to join a corp they would band together for protection and stake out territory.this would also bring a much needed adreniline filled excitement to eve.the security ratings just take the heart out of this potentialy great game.you will see people will adapt to thier new enviorment band together and really make this game interesting.not to mention all the new clients it would bring in.sure some people would not like this idea a.k.a. carebears.so i would suggest making two seperate servers one for diehard straight up pvp excitement .and the other for people who think this game is just about showing off thier new ship .EVE a potential milestone in the history of computer gameing if only it has the will to be great.

Why two servers? We already have what you want all the single servers - high-sec space for those who don't want to PvP, and low-sec space for those who do.
Incidentally, making the entire game a PvP zone would lose vastly more people than it gained, a look at any game which allows both on different servers would quickly make that obvious.

Life is hard being a rogue; working outside the limits of the law. Seems civilization doesnĘt prosper as much here in the outlands as it does where people feel safe.
I would guess it has to do with protection. Those living around empire space seem to like to live in the comfort of knowing risks are low and the chances of death are slim.
I say to heck with them. They might have the huge governments to protect them as they live the little socially acceptable lives, but they will never know what it truly means to live.
Out here, everything you get, you know you earned. People donĘt burden you with their idea of how you should life; you get to live it as you choose.

Your idea is really great, IF, you already have a cruiser and decent skill sets. If you are a noobie, you are stuck. You won't be able to live long enough to save enough to buy a decent ship or, you will always have to wait until enough of your corp members are on line to go out to play, so you don't get toasted.
I have a cruiser, I enjoy going out and fighting in 0.0 space. I don't expect a noobie to have to be able to survive a fight with me. Give them a safe place where they can learn to fight. Where they can earn a living and grow as a character and help support the economy. It is supposed to be part of the game. That's why the skills are there.
You remind me of the kids that 'played D&D' but never role played, we called you hack and slashers, just build the biggest baddest fighter and go slay something. It was boring then and it is boring now.
If you don't like diversity, go play a solo game. "Speed is the essence of war, not the whole war." |

all you have to do is ,give a new player free insurance until he or she gets a certain number of skill points.maybe up the quality of the free clones to match that number of skill points and we are done.this would give new players a pathway to reach a competitive level.
also this would allow them to get familiar with the game while adding some much needed action to a potentialy great game.i have been playing eve for nearly two months now and i have not been involved in one player versus player battle.this is quickly becoming stail.
everyone is too concerned with security status.there are no invisible restrictions in space there should be none in this game.pvp on a n00b character on a player versus player server can be great fun!

Then you aren't trying hard enough. Go to pf-346, FD-MLJ, or right now, Andurhonnen. I'm sure there's plent more systems where there are gate-campers who will happily PvP with you. Join the mercenary frigates. They get together in large groups to hunt BSs in frigates. Supposedly, you can gang with a friend and blow the crap out of them without a sec hit. Find a buddy to do it with. Go to a low sec system and just attack somebody. Join a corp at war. Nothing is stopping you from engaging in PvP, there are just consequencecs for doing it under certain conditions.
Eve is a game for many different types, PKers, ore looters, pirates, and yes, even 'carebears.' That's the way it should be. Your 150mm Railgun II perfectly strikes Serpentis Drug Baron, wrecking for 192.8 damage. |

Why do we have character at all, can't I just pretend I'm great white and kill everyone upon creation in 1.0 space, it'd be great!
