Maybe after x years, cool things in EvE happens every x years, hi res rexture or things from therad "Team Avatar and the future of our prototype" may happens after 10 years or never, this whole EvE evoling progres is damn slow and boring.
If it bleed we can kill it. |

Their excuse last time was something about a huge download (30+GB) is too much for most people. Even though majority of the world can download that in a day at most but whatever. |

Baby steps. They've done it before. Start with some ships one expansion. The balance on the next followed by stations after that. And finally the celestials. That covers two years and shouldn't kill them in manpower to manage.
That said, I'd happily volunteer to paint hi-rez textures for them if they want to mail me their texture layers. Wouldn't be the first time I've done that for the love of a game.

No need to they already have them, just dump them into a file and give us the link. The people that want them will download it the ones that dont wont.
Yea I know there is little more to that but all the high res textures already exist so its not like it would be an issue.

Actually in this case it's the ISP's who charge the earth for unlimited data plans so most people are on limited data. Also CCP's own server has to pay for it's data use. And 30 gigs extra on the client every time it is downloaded would add a LOT of data to their useage also. Personally it would destroy my data cap in a single download, though the speed would be fast enough, it's the overall allowance the ISP gives me that isn't.
Optional DLC is the way to go obviously, but they have said it's more complex than just publishing the files to make that work. |
