The best thing to do is to try it yourself and ask about specific things if you get stuck. It may go all horribly wrong, but hopefully you will come out of it knowing what to do and what not to do in the future.

Sadly, the EVE guide mentions nothing of how you become a shareholder, what is the benefit of being a shareholder and what is the requirement to be a shareholder?
Is there an actual ISK-benefit, or is that some form of counting ranks in a Corp?

Check out the Market Discussions forum. Shares mean whatever the corporation decides they'll mean. Some corps are publicly traded and pay dividends to shareholders.
