I seem to remember when Eve started and titans with a mythical ship. There was a back story that only 1 titan had ever been built and it caused so much turmoil that it was never done again...

Regardless of errors, the fact that the article contains the phrase "for the win" is a sign that it should be scrapped entirely and forgotten. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

No, it means that "for the win" should be removed and the idiot who put it there podded.

Edited by: Mr Floppyknickers on 04/04/2006 00:15:17 If it's true that no titans have been flown on TQ by players then what about SISI? I only ask because there was a video on eve-files of someone using a minnie titan's superweapon on a POS both inside and outside of the shield. I believe the video was titles titan_vs_pos or some similar variation. In the video the titan didn't harm anything while inside or outside of the shield. (at least it had large scrolling letters claiming such)
Was this mearly a dev video someone edited or could someone on TQ or SISI actually be fiddling around with a minnie titan?

It was on Sisi, no player has actually flown a Titan on TQ.
If I remember my backstory correctly far who NPC wise actually have titans...
Jove: 3 Serps: 1 Thrukker: 1 Amarr: 1 (unless they've built more since Khanid stole one) Khanid: 1 Minmatar: (not a clue, I'm gonna guess they have one) Caldari: 1 (its never started directly, but the picture for the titan Chronicle is a caldari looking titan so I'll give it to them) Gallente: 1 afaik, though it might have been two, just can't remember how many they said they had total when the Serps ran off with one

I'd support that too.

I can't remember the last time I used that in a POST.
Unfortunately, Mebrithiel doesn't hold herself to such high standards in chat *sigh* -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

if everybody can edit the wiki stuff, can't one person go and delete everything out there and then write bolox like "Battleships: Battleships are overpowered except *x* battleship that is very nerfed and CCP should boost it so he can stand a chance"

Aaaah, Wikipedia r0x0r. Some time ago when we had a presidental election here in Finland I was actively trolling and writing negative comments about our current president thus trying to cripple her presidental campaing but some idiot always removed my trolls from there.
Hmm, I must edit this worthless article too!

Well maybe in kali some spying is in order if the game really opens up more than that. But if i remember the Gallente have 4 or 5 and serpentis stole one.
Edit. And if you were to fight them with your own titans you would probably get pwnd... CCP really should look into beefing up the player titans and motherships.. Since the NPC titans have almost the same hps that a large POS have.

Jove Empire: 2 titans Jove rogue general hiding down in the south: 1 Titan (+ fleet). The Gallente Federation lost a nearly finished Titan to the Serpentis who ran off with it.
No (player piloted) titan has been destroyed on tranquility to my knowledge. The Amarr Not-an-Empire lost a titan or two in the war against the Jovians.
All main factions own a titan or three (for special events).
The entry in the wiki has been mostly correct. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

From my experience working with the Eve article on Wikipedia, a lot of the contributors are ex-players and not terribly happy with the game. It shows.

Of course. Then someone will go to the page history and revert it, and then they can refer the IP who did that editing to the admins, who can ban him for life if he does it again.
Wikipedia works by assuming everyone is a valid contributor. If they're not... no more contributing

Wikipedia has an NPOV policy. This means that articles should never be written soley by the fanboys of a particular game, simply because that would be extremely biased. The best way to do it is to have as many sides as possible work on an article, to force them to agree on something in the middle.

Edited by: Aeina Caeraen on 04/04/2006 08:55:47 The thing about Wikipedia is that one can revert a topic to previously saved version, and this can be done all the way to article creation, the changes are never deleted except by GMs, and even then, the deleted versions can generally still be recovered. I think someone did a study on Wikipedia and found that incorrect or just plain troll changes were reverted within, on average, ~5 minutes.

mmm tbh we need an expanded wiki entry on eve coverign all the new changes - perhaps hte fans with valid contributions could get involved given the total lack of dev support here in terms of documentation
