I had to go ahead and make a charater to even make this post for some reason, but I cant find the answer to my big problem anywhere. Now.... the game looks fine for the most part, but the little boxes with words on them and everything are completely white with a bit of purple around them. I dont know what to do... I had to guess my way through making my charater and nothing has changed yet. Can someone help me? Please.

Just print screen in game then go to CCP/EVE/Capture/Screenshots (or something along those lines)

I had this a few month ago. Back up your cache, then reinstall Eve.
Should fix it.

Go into the folder where you installed Eve...c:\games\eve or whatever, and copy/paste the folder called cache to somewhere else.
Paste it back after you reinstall.

Ok, doing it now. I hope it works. It was odd trying to fumble my way through the beginning of the game with no idea what was going on. :)

Backing up the cache didn't work. And I have a Rage128 GL (AGP) card.

That card is probably too old to play the game. I don't think it supports DirectX 7 let alone DirectX 9.
You should be able to get a Radeon 9600 AGP or Geforce 6600 AGP for around $50 US these days which is a bargain, and will rejuvenate any game, not just Eve

It's true that the graphics card is.... well.... Try updating the graphics driver with Omega Drivers and if it still doesn't work you'll need to update the card. |
