Dropped out of warp, all my modules went offline. Tried to re-enable and got a message saying I need skills. Checked my skills and discovered they were all gone (skills 0) Logged out, clear cache, login, black screen with sound.
Uninstalled, re-installed, same thing! Filed a petitions but I doubt CCP will answer any time soon as they haven't answered my last two petitions about broken module etc. :( |

Unfortunately no! When I tried to file a support ticket, I received a "Petition failure, your quota for petitions has been breached" CCP sucks! |

going to make a guess that you have an amd video card. There is a bug currently with dx 11 and amd cards with eve that can do the blackscreen with sound.(could be something else in your case but might as well try this.)
You can swap to dx9 in the launcher; click gear in upper right corner then choose last tab and switch to dx9 in the drop down. |

If you see that your char does indeed have permanent damage (skills loss), and you still can't petition, try contacting customer service through Account Management. |

The issue seems resolved today(after downtime).
Unfortunately, it required that support fiddled with my Character in order to get things going again. Had to place my ship in another station, repackage and return lost ship rigs.
PS. I am running an AMD card and have been DX9 since the new patch. Though this issue seemed like a totally different type of problem. |

Another patch installed today. Still mac black screen problem. I logged a petition, no response. Found this below. However, 1. launching using eve inline app in folder structure suggested launches the Launcher, not the app directly 2. To attempt to re-patch, I fail also as i cannot find the path to the common.ini file to delete and force patch dl. I find as far as .../resources-/ but there is no /transgaming/... Folder. 3 am nervous to try 3rd solution to uninstall n reinstall 'cos im not finding references this solves it.
Any pointers? Been a pd subscriber for 2.5days and its been blank screen for 2... Ps i did notice the update tried 2 or 3 times n failed before this problem. Corrupt patch? How can i dl n reinstall last 2 or 3 mac updates manually?
Posted 02 July 2013 - 12:54 AM I think I found the mac equivalent of exefile.exe From http://wiki.eveonlin...and_Workarounds Quote
MAC: Run EVE client from with Eve Online.app to circumvent the launcher (Show Package Contents>Contents/Resources/Eve Online.app). MAC: To re-patch delete common.ini from within Eve Online.app (Show Package Contents>Eve Online.app/Contents/Resources/Eve Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE/common.ini).
OS X specific issues The following are a list of specific issues for OS X 10.6 and 10.7
Corrupt installation/patching In the case of a corrupt installation or patch the Launcher will not start or the client will not start.
You can work around this in two different ways. 1. Open the Terminal Application or use Finder to work your way to this path:
EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE In there delete the "common.ini" file and start the client again. It will start the launcher and repair the client for you automatically. 2. Uninstall the client, delete the EVE Online Preferences folder for it from /Users/username/Library/Application support/
Then download the latest full version of the client from: http://community.eve...e.com/download/ and install. This is a bit more severe fix for the issue but hopefully will only be needed under severe client corruption circumstances |
