I already put in alot of money into this game. Bought two of the 2nd 10 year bundles. One for myself, one for a long time player who told me check the game out. I have bought alot of plex already, to get ships etc. To be ready to go... What I didnt expect, was this.... since last week, every time I started eve there was a patch. About three days into that, you know someone screwed up something somewhere. Well today, it now hits me. Launcher just sits, does nothing, whether signed in or not. Ok....check the forums, nothing useful that I have seen yet to help me. So after trying the repair tool, which failed everytime. I said ok we ll reinstall. Yay. NO. Downloaded the install from the eve page, ran it, it failed. Thats where Im at, not happy, and ready to cancel on this game, even after all that waste of money. Unacceptable. I know crap happens, but your big thing, is youve gone this long, your game is so tight and youre all on top of it, then why can I even reinstall the game now? Hope I get some help. Seraphim

So... after that. Looked for more info, didnt find anything. Downloaded the eve installer, ran it, it failed like 10 seconds in....said trouble getting payload...thats it. Repair.exe before I uninstalled, did nothing but fail. Every other game on my computer works fine. Star wars, FF14, etc. So again....the patch, latest one has now made it unplayable, not sure how many more times I need to say this. Seraph and when this posts....which I just tried to do, and it said I can only post once every five mins, since my acct is less than two days old. Umm this acct is 2 months old. So another problem?

Bar at bottom, says 1/4 updating some such, 0.0 percent. Whether I logged in or not. It stayed that way, however signed in, the play button was grayed out. Hmm,,,whats up I'm thinking. So I run it again and again and again, reboot the computer. Nothing. Now I know the game has had like minimum five patches in the last week. And whatever was done in the last day messed me up. As I stated, I was in the game yesterday filling up my training que on two accts. Everything worked fine. So moving on....after all that. I went here to the eve forums, and as of yet. Nothing suggested, which for the most part. Was run the repair tool. I'm like OK...run that. Fails 4 seconds in. Again, 4 seconds again fails. Something line 365 was last thing showing on the repair tool. OK...reboot again, run it again. Same thing. So check here again, OK run the exe from inside the eve folder. Game didn't launch. But the launcher did. Umm OK, was that supposed to happen? everyone on here said it would run the game, it didn't. So I'm like damn it, I'm gonna have to reinstall, other people are doing that. Their mess up, but OK Ill reinstall the game to fix their problem. Nope. The reinstall doesn't even work. It fails on its bar like a third in, 10 seconds. One, nothing else is wrong on my computer, everything works, every other game I have loaded. Two, I have eset, it is set to ignore all my games. Also, the forums say my account is less then two days old when I try to post? This account is two months old. As I stated in my original statement right off. So now I don't know if there is another issue going on as well. I logged here obviously to post, so I would assume I'm not compromised. No spyware, no adware, no viruses on my computer. Other people on here are reporting the same thing. Happy? here more useless info.... win7 64 bit. 8 gigs of ram 450gt vid card 500 gig hard drive cable from comcast

One executes the launcher (wrong one to try and Billy suggested the other one) The other doesn't execute the launcher and goes straight to the login screen (this is the one Billy was suggesting).

It's a community forum, not the helpdesk. You need to raise a support ticket, which you can do through the website. At the top right of screen in the 'Eve Universe' dropdown. From there you can select "Support". You'll have to login to your account, but you can raise a ticket for assistance.

Was a corrupt file in an upstream transparent squid cache. I had access to the cache so could flush the offending URI, but you may be a bit stuck. Went to wifes computer, went to eve where you can download the payloads....bam they downloaded np. So moved them thru the network to my computer. Ran the exe and those files in the same folder.....it got down. Slow though on the extract. Anyhow....hit finish, run eve on the checkbox. Didnt work, never worked the first time I installed eve either. So double clicked the icon it put on the desktop and wham launcher started, kicking and screaming flashing, but it started, everything loaded up, pictures, etc. Bottom bar showed same thing....nothing happening. Put in name and password.....bottom bar nothing happening. Play button grayed out. Ran repair tool, nothing it failed just like before. So now Im back to where I was when I first posted, with a less patched game now. Yay. So dont know what to do. During all this frustration earlier, I put in a ticket on the website, since I of course cant get in the game. Nothing there either yet.

I had it recently and just left it and it resumed after a few minutes.

Nothing there either yet. try clearing you DNS cache, i already had the problem where the launcher messed up the DNS. basically, in start menu, enter 'cmd' in search thingy, right clic -> run as administrator now you enter this 4 commands: ipconfig /release arp -d * ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew what these commands do: release the ip disconnecting the network card clear the arp table clear the DNS cache re-ask for an IP to the DHCP, reconnecting your network card once done, go in eve folder and launch game from the \bin\exefile.exe, if you are not up to date (you shouldn't), it will patch you by stating a quick setup then launcher. let launcher do the update, once you can play, close the launcher, and restart from \bin\exefile.exe rince & repeat until no more patch (can happen to be a few in a row)

My problem is that whenever eve fails to patch, for whatever reason, it corrupts the file ownership. You have to take ownership of the install location by force so that you can change the files in the eve install folder. Then reboot. Then use the repair tool. Or patch normally. Either works at this point for me. But for your case I'd recommend the repair tool. Only ever happens with eve. No idea why.

And then opens the launcher, and nothing. Same thing. It don't matter if I sign in or not, it just sits there. I try to run the repair tool from the launcher again, and even from the folder, nothing, it fails 4 seconds in. Now, I'm gonna go back read the rest of the posts, and try anything else that was posted. Also, I put in a ticket on the website in support, that is now 24 hours with no response. I have even called Iceland, but I have to wait a bit more my time, to catch them open their time. update, read the rest of the posts. LOL is all I can say. Trying to get help, whether I had a bad attitude or not is irrelevant. People shouldn't start stuff on other peoples threads. Personally, I would of loved to see what was either removed or said, send it to me personally in game so I can laugh. Anyhow, thank you to the others who supplied some things to try, doing those now, and thanks for any who supported me. Ill drop a update if anything works, so anyone else having this issue will get it resolved.

Full control is on all users and admins. Rebooted. Nothing. Same thing, over and over. Run it from the bin folder....opens up, automatically says something was download, hit ok to let it do its thing. It opens a eve online box, does some stuff, then opens a small box saying its patching the launcher, then it goes back to the other box and finishes up. Then the launcher opens. Same thing, whether signed in or not, the bar at the bottom doesnt move. Says 1/4 validating 0/0 percent. Never changes. This process has repeated itself over 20 times today. No change. I ran the repair after the flush and reboot, twice now. Same thing, just fails 4 seconds in. Ah well, 45k people on as of this typing. And I never had a problem till 2 days ago. Thanks ccp.

Others who have the files downloaded but stalls at 0%, could this be a permission issue? Not sure if its possible but try run it as administrator or elevated privileges?

I saw that eve had put out a another installer file, the little one. It had a different number on it. So I'm thinking yay, they did something it might work. Alas, no, still didn't help me, but it got me thinking. Why does everything else work, why does some of the eve website work, but yet it wont let me download those files. So, I let the windows thing diagnose my connection, thinking hey it cant hurt, maybe it will say something useful. Well it said, two things were off or not doing what they were supposed to. I ran it again, it fixed one, but the other it couldn't. So ... here is the kicker, and hopefully any of you who are having this problem can go check. Something changed my settings. Something turned proxy on, and the problem, was port 21320. So here are the three things or possibilities.... 1) eve doesn't like anything going thru that port, so it wont work, Or there patch did something. I don't know. 2) if you use spy-bot, and use its proxy settings, good for somethings, but apparently not eve. Which I find funny, since everything else on my computer works. 3) Firefox did it. from some stuff I read, Firefox was reporting weird things about proxy servers. So check your internet settings, check Firefox settings, and check spy-bot settings for proxy being on. Turn them all off, make sure it says automatically find your settings. And vollia ! my world is right again, first right off, I was able to download the files, two it all worked and installed, and the icon went on my desktop. Then, even though it never worked and still doesn't. The box should say, run eve, checked, and clear downloaded crap, check. Again, clicked yes, nothing happened. Eve needs to work on that.... Anyhow, double clicked the icon on the desktop, launcher came up, and BAM the bottom bar started doing its thing. Got done, and I was able to log into eve again. Not sure why the tutorial is coming up on my main account like I'm new again or something, but hey at least it works now. Hope that helps other people with their problem. Seraphim

Now for spy bot, you click its box, thinking oh ya, this will be safer, it changes what it needs to. I honestly cant say on the day of the last patch, I was going hmm lets click this and see, and when I have used spy-bot a long time, and never messed with that part.
