Regine Osirine	Posted - 2006.04.05 01:54:00 - [1] I was in Mateber a few weeks ago...mining in a Dessi(yeah, call me loonie, I can handle it). I wasn't listening up too much on local as I was enjoying all the cute little shiny rocks on my ship-vid-sensors. I had a good tune on the radio, and was just enjoying a quiet night on EVE...can you guess what happened? Maybe not! A player came, warp-scrambled me, and a fairly one-sided fight ensued. I do believe I left a few dents, but he had me to 50% hull in a few. Then the flashy-hurty things stopped and I get an invitation to chat...hmmm... He joked about my attention-span, I joked about him intruding on MeatLoaf's "Bat outta Hell", and we both "LOL'd. He then offered a ransom...I bartered for less, and within a few sentences we'd struck a deal. My corp was online in another system. After contacting the CEO, the ransom was paid. Said pilot then spoke with me for a few more minutes as I limped back to my station. Pirate? Opportunist? Scum-bag-low-life shouldn't-be-allowed-to-play-egg-sucking PvPer? You can call it as you like. In my opinion that pilot was a darned-good player. He played HIS GAME, and bested me. I had to endure a few nights of pain to make up the loss of corp ISK, but I'm better off for it. So life goes on.

Arutema	Posted - 2006.04.05 06:09:00 - [6] As a former dessi miner, i'd advise you to stick to high-sec till you can go up to cruiser mining. But yes, if someone asks for a reaonable ransom, I'll pay it, shake 'is hand and tell 'im i'm glad we could do business. Dying honorably isn't profitable.

Bat out of hell is overrated and the flaming is petty and uncalled for Offtopic trivia aside, i agree with Regine completely and congratulate you on having a good attitude that it took me a long time to develop, im ashamed to say Oh, and i wish Stockholm Syndrome were common in eve, yes I would have made me alot more iskies back in the day if it were Feh
