"What outside community do I need to join to get in the corp? I want to know because I'm seriously determined to join GoonFleet/GoonWaffe."
It's no secret... the 'goons come from Something Awful. Think it actually costs some money to become their member, though.

Originally by: Jobie Thickburger The only problem is you've grown to big for your shoes. From what I've read yall have tried to change the game to what YOU want and not what as Woody (IE Gucomics) would call the "Vision". This game was made tough. Thats what I like about it. I'll never be able to master it, and therefor never hit that slowdown like I did in Wow (yes I played it for 4 months, got bored w/ it and left) where All I care about is the next lvl.
This is really a misperception that has grown up over the past few months, often fuelled by people who have a personal interest in seeing goonfleet fail. What we're talking about is the occasional forum post about balance issues, which are obviously always going to be written from a certain perspective. I don't think any goonfleet post on game balance has been significantly more whiney or stupid than average. It's certainly not a case of goonfleet trying to strongarm CCP into changing the game using numbers. The only exception to that is the issue of the Sovereignty skill, which is a specific, major barrier to us bringing more players to the game, and I see no harm in making that clear to CCP. We're not asking for a totally new skill, just for a skill that is in the database to be seeded.
Generally, though, goonfleet is not interested in trying to warp the game to fit us, though we reserve the right to discuss game balance on the forums, as anyone can. ----------------------------------------- Wild Pig spawn in jungle, bring spear |

Where are all of these "nerf snipers", "advanced learning", or "nerf whatever" Goonfleet threads anyways? The only thing we've complained and lols blobbed about is the sovereignty skill, which I think was already create but never implemented into the game.

Edited by: J Valkor on 06/04/2006 00:12:01 I had a splinter of Goon Squad on my old WoW server (which, ironically, later splintered into two smaller groups.)
I have nothing against goons, never have. A moderater on one of my forums is a goon. A few people in my classes are goons. Hell, I surf SA. However, there is nothing people hate more then success. Truly, really, nothing more. Any corp with 900 players will be a serious threat to the stability of the current political scene in EvE. Any change will usually mean the current top dogs will be lowered. I mean, they make no impact now, but give it five months... ****... that is a lot of firepower.
Go, Goons, Go.

Hah.
The only reason ppl will hate Goonfleet is if they start having fun rather than staying at safespots all the time like the vet pvpers with the uber killboard stats.
When you're a noob, there's no reason to hold back from pvp. Some of these Vets are just jealous that you didn't go through the boring waiting that kills most eve subs.
One of these days, a development firm is gonna look at the space theme mmog genre, take cards from CCP, get rid of all the mindless timesinks, and make a mint on hooking new players at a higher rate.
