I`ve been reading the formus for a copple of days now and am still confused about big guns for a BS.
ATM if fly a Dom but next week i move on to a scorp and my buddy gets the Dom. Now NPC hunting ain`t the problem..
I want to get in to PVP and wondering wat to fit now. I`ve bought 2 Dual 250`s . While fighting NPC`s at optimum range (12 Km) and Antimatter, ill hit 2 out of 5 shots with damage varing for 70 to 160. The other 4 med 250`s have a steady hit rate of about 60 to 90 dmg each shot (also anti matter). I must say that the Duals suck ATM.
Now i read that the large tach beams are quite good. If so what are youre experiences and what is the optimal range of those?
Skills Gunnry 5, L hyb 2, M hyb 4, Sharp 4, motion pre 3, Rap fire 3, Surge strk 3, Traj an. 2.

Scorpion is really meant to jam the hell out of a ship. So I would suggest working in a team with someone else who has massive guns, like that Dominix buddie you got. You take care of the jamming and capturing.
Once you jammed him, use 4 torpedo launchers and 2 turrets to help bring his ship down fast before he logs.

Dual 150s.... you can put 4 250mm on a scorp, but you are going to jamm the hell out of thins so i would sugest some projectiles i use em, btw get scouts they are the best, i have seen 425mm auto caonnos do 200+ dmg my freind dose avrg, only reason is he has web and scrambler, next patch nerfs sheild boosters so the scorp can tank as well as it use to, keep the domi for rqat hunting

Dual 250's kick ass with the new patch. More damage per second than 425mm rails, but of course with much lower range (around 20k optimal with AM) and very high ammo consumption as they fire really fast.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

On paper at least the dual 250mm rails look like the weapon of choice for a Scorpion. You get your ship's hybrid bonus and as long as you're inside 20km (which you HAVE to be if you want to web and scramble them) they should hit pretty well. Orbit at 15k and use a web, a scrambler or 2, and some sensor dampeners and you should be able to dish out pretty good damage while taking little in return. Just bring a buddy if you want to be sure they don't log.
I'm not sure if 2 torps + 4 rails or 4 torps + 2 rails would be best. Maybe even 3 of each? Hopefully I'll have a Scorpion some day to test it out.

You really need to look at the 425mm rails. Dual 250mm are crap right now. The DEVs claim that they will be better then regular 250mms in the next patch but...
The 425mm rails are very nice guns. I used to get 35km range on mine with like 40 - 60% more dmg then some 250mm prots. Fill your other slots with launchers and fill those med slots with ECM.

The dual 250 are pretty much the best rails for PVP on chaos - the 425 are crap for the scorp if you want to jam, since they don't hit very well at ranges below 15 km.
And patchday *should* be today...
