shield tank or armour tank?
for armour tank, set it up like a normal tempy with another ewar mod in the extra midslot (i.e. 2 reps, cap booster, scram, web, multispec, another ewar mod, 2 nos, and either dual 425mm IIs and a mwd, or 650mms and an ab)
for shield tank, I don't know :). Highs would be the same, lows 3 pdu 3 gyrostab, and for the mids, maybe ab, xl booster, amp, 2 invul and a cap booster (obviously useless for solo, but can dish out some damage if you have tacklers). I have no idea if that setup works btw

He's talking about a Fleet Tempest as in, the faction ship. Not for in fleet battles.

that's what I assumed too :).
if he means a fleet setup for a tempest:
1400mm II x 6 with Tremor
Cruise x 2
Sensor Booster II x 3
Tracking Computer II x 2
Gyrostab II x 3
RCU II x 1
1600mm Plate x 1
Med Rep (for patching up afterwards) x 1

If you meant 'Tempest Fleet Issue' rather than 'A Tempest for a fleet', then simply add in an extra tracking computer to your extra mid.

I'd imagine you'd just set it up like you would a normal tempest. I.E if you're shield tanking you have one extra mid for a hardener/extender/EW. If you're armor tanking you'd have one more slot for EW.
But I don't fly the ship, so what do I know.

Personally I'd sell it and buy 2 machariels for the Isk. The extra mid is not that great when there is no cpu left to use it

Its true, they are super sexy. But I'd rather be flying a Vagabond solo, and I wouldn't want to fly a faction BS in fleet :S

Depends how much you want to 'pimp' your setup.
Personally I'd go all the way (as I would with my Navy Megathron) which was a case of take a regular blasterthron setup, add faction/officer/deadspace modules (better attributes, better fitting allowing for that extra slot to be used).
So if I were in youÆre situation, experiment until youÆve got a really sharp AC setup, buy all the faction gear, then sally forth and pwn until pwned (caught out by a fleet in my case  )
ItÆs only isk at the end of the dayà
