Having trouble calculating the effect of shield harderners. To raise a 50% shield whith 50% I expect: 0.5*1.5=0.75
But these are the values I get with 4 Invu Field I (25% on EM, EXP, KIN and THM) on my moa: EM 17.3 -> 60.2 EXP 66.9 -> 84.1 KIN 50.4 -> 76.1 THM 33.8 -> 68.2

Stacking penalty anyone?
"Modules of the same type, or affecting the same attribute will be penalized".
You can fit two invulners, or one and a few 50% hardeners, but as soon as you stack more than two modules that affect the same attribute you get a nasty penalty. Infact its so nasty that I NEVER stack more than two that affect the same attribute.
They changed the way the stacking penalty works in rmr I think. to make it easier to use two modules of the same type, but nastier if you use more. This was to stop the gankageddon, and such ships being the winzor. Armageddon with pulses and a full rack of damage mods was ebil.
So for shield hardeners, you only get the percentage of what is left i.e. one em 50% = 50% em resist. (Without penalty) two 50% em = 75% em resist.
But with penalty I think its about 68% em resist. Put a third on and watch..its about 73% I think. At work at the mo so can't give exact figures, but you understand the point?!
Send me an evemail if you have anymore probs.

i was of the thought that stacking was only heavily penalized after 3 modules of the same kind. as in, you still get more than half the effect from the 3rd mod but the 4th one is not worth fitting. ________________________________________________________________
if you can't beat 'em......shoot 'em :P

This is corect.
2 mods of same type after RMR is better than 2 before RMR 3 mods of same type after RMR is better than 3 before RMR 4 mods of same type after RMR is about the same as 4 before RMR 5+ mods of same type after RMR is worse than 5+ before RMR

Edited by: Szordin on 07/04/2006 16:48:51 Edited by: Szordin on 07/04/2006 16:48:00 When you add 50% resistance, it not perfect with your base resistance. A 50% resistance hardener takes the amount of damage you would normally have taken after your shipÆs base resistance and then cuts that damage by 50%. Another 50% hardener takes the total after the first hardener, and cuts that by 50% - effectively adding another 25% to your ôtrueö resistance.
