ASCN played a very large part in the holding of EC allowing the BoB dreads free reign over the POS's. Now we all know that ASCN was rather, shall we say, POed with G/Iron over the blue sneak attack, and as such wanted them neutralized.
On the other hand BoBs intentions were pretty clear as well, and only an idiot would think that the NAP would be holding or that BoB was friendly beyond the current operation.
So ASCN, did you work to weaken G/Iron knowning BoB would be turning on you, or were you just happy to not be their target? Looks like you did a lot of their grunt work, took the brunt of the Friday counter attack and got pretty much nothing for it.

ASCN/AXE participated in a part of EVE history on a scale never seen before.
What didn't they get out of it?

They took part in an event which can be considered historical in EVE history and they were on the winning side.
imho they were aware that this was not an everlasting coalition. They played the game, had fun and shared the fame. Now it is just back to basics and home to prepare for whatever comes next.

has BOB turned on ASCN?
I dont think so. I mean they've reset all standings, everyone. Im sure some standings will return very quickly but which ones is bst guessed by the leadership of BOB. Unless BOB start actively hunting ASCN in ASCN's space then there shouldnt be a problem.
The very worst i can see happening is a few ASCN members stupidly puting themselves in positions where they get blown up BOB members, and i guess that will happen. OR BOB decide. mmmmm thats one hell of a juicy target over there, and it ud be a hell of a challenge and alora fun, and think fo the glory, the glory THE GLOOORRRYYYYYY of taking ASCN space.
I dont think the later will happen soon, but it ud be 1 hell of a fight and i wouldnt want to call it either way.
Whichever way you look at it CYVOk isnt dumb. Im sure he and ASCN is prepared for whatever will happen.

We know we have a big target on us, always had and presumably always will. G, BOB, F-E, RA, SA, SE, whoever... we might get invaded by one, many or all of them and others one day. Thats the risk we take by living in 0.0 .
Should we hide docked or make history?

It's funny how the only people in an uproar about this whole thing are people that AREN'T ASCN, AXE or BoB.
Most, if not all of us thought it was cool.
I'm sure there will be some ASCN folks ranting on the forums with alts, but overall I think the opinion is "Thank god no more staring at these ****ing bubbles."

Personaly, as a member of AXE/ ASCN I think BoB WILL be invading ASCN. All I can say is, GL. Your going to be doing ALOT of 6 day long camping sprees like EC to take all the stations. I dont think they can take ALL of our stations, but they can certainly take serveral. Will they be willing to hold those stations for ever? I doubt it.
A war with BoB is inevitable. But I dont think there will be any clear cut winner. Just people who die alot. Even if bob takes some stations, ASCN / AXE will eventualy take them back. The alliance is too large, and has commited too much time to developing Feyth / Impass to just let it go. I know Ill stay and fight to the last station.

How comes that all the posts about this so called "turn on former allies" post comes from people that weren't actually in EC- ?
ASCN/AXE/Five seem to be cool about it. We all got what we wanted and were part of something so huge we wont see it again for quite somet time i am quite sure.
There were no promises wich is why none could've been broken.
All i can say is we have interesting times in the eve universe wich can't be a bad thing.

Edited by: David Corbett on 07/04/2006 15:22:17 We got what we wanted out of the whole event. People might want to declare us 'played' to drive a wedge between us and those who have been our allies, or for other nefarious purposes like harming our morale, but the fact is, we all got out and did what we wanted to do. TRUST's POSes are just as dead now as they were yesterday.
So no, as someone who was there just about every day of the event, I don't think that we were played. I suspect the people that were also there don't think we were played either. I'm not entirely certain what the OP is trying to achieve here; it's not like this whole thing with the trashing of G's alt shipyards benefited only BoB. I seem to recall an incident a few months back that would leave us wanting plenty of revenge too.

Kinda like "Axis & Allies" not simple and luck based as risk and not the same timesink as "diplomacy", and you can play the evil side not just the blue or yellow.
However: Winning in risk and axis&allies can't be compared towards the joy of kicking your friends in diplomacy.

Anybody not playing evil in "diplomacy" usually quickly finds themself low on territory. A round of "diplomacy" is the fastest way to develop intense hatreds for your best friends.

Stupid alt! We did accomplish our goals, so did BoB and the others in EC. Whatever BoB do, they never shoot us as blue. One can only speculate what BoB will do in the near future. Will they go against us? We¦ll see, but if they do, they do it with respect. Neutral standings - no backstabbing as some northerners.

Seriously, in diplomacy its not so much what you do, and less why you do it as how you do it. BOB did everything in a very upfront and polite manner, one that does not engender much vitriol...
Really they should send Molle to the middle east to kick start that whole peace process... On second thought maybe not, I don't think they like poetry that much over there.

"Hey I got an awesome strategy, lets get liek 400 people and then..... do whatever we want I guess" I'm not really familier with ASCN's role in the whole deal, but I'd rather be a hero on the losing side than a ***** on the winning side. Speaking as a very much low-level ASCN guy, I don't feel I got played. I got to take part in a really big event, it was cool, we fully expected all standings to be reset and they were, and I never thought we were going to get the outpost and didn't see what use it would be anyway. But as I say, just a footsoldier, do and die and all that.
