So... I haven't looked in detail to see what's up... like damage or minor differences or whatnot... so many other details to attend to.
But I notice that items don't stack... not all the time. Some do some don't. For instance... I've 8 Hobgoblins in my station item storage. 4 are stacked, 4 are individual. I'll be damned if I can get the individual ones to stack... either with the larger stack or each other. What am I missing?

They were probably damaged when you tried to repackage them lot. You cannot repackage damaged items.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

So there are two states that an item can be in with regards to stacking. Either they are packaged which allows them to be stacked or they are unpackaged because they have been used somehow and does not allow them to stack. An unpackaged item can be repacked by right clicking them item and clicking repackage, this will not work if they item has been damaged. |

And if the item has been damaged, generally you can repair it by right-clicking on it. But you can't repair laser crystals. |

This is assuming you are in a station that has a repair shop.

Item stacks when they're identical as stats. If any field is different (cause damaged, unpacked and so on they don't. BPC don't stack cause they're always different istances of an item, since they have licenced runs, variable material costs and so on.

Also make sure to hit "Repackage" and not "Reprocess" as that can be expensive.
