Not really a give-away if you have to buy tickets for a draw. More like a lottery...

lol, you dont even need to have a degree in social engineering or be a vet of EVE to see this one as a scam. It stank so bad practically anyone with half a brain could see that.

There is a genuine Navy Thron give away/lottery being run by DJ Xod, so make sure that any ticket purchases go through him. More details over at The Eve Radio Forums.

Well the nature and the quality of the post are both in question. If this truely was an official lottery, there should be an official press release detailing all information including draw times and ticket buy end dates. This obviously leads to people assuming that this post is a scam and if its not this reflects poorly on eve radio for putting up such an unprofessional post to advertise something that alot of ppl would enter for.

I doubt that eve radio was responsible for the post. Seems to be someone just trying to share the information. Befroe I publicly called something a scam, I'd try to at least check it out.

The whole reason the post seemed hurried is that Xod wasn't sure he was going to sell enough tickets to break even. He was giving away not only the Navy Thron, but a T1 or T2 BS of choice and a T1BC or T2Frig of choice. So he asked the in game chan to advertise in their systems. There was only a few minutes left to the competition when the OP posted.
So yeah, Xod got his tickets and there is one well hated guy with a Navy Megathron out there now. :P

What-ever! LOL Nice damage control. You guys called him a scammer, and now you're eating your shoes! HaHa It's a legitimate contest, and you pounced on him in record time.
I understand it was an alt posting, and that it was a two sentence post, but damn. Wait a little while before declaring scamz0r1!11!!1!

Well if someone had done adequate advertising (like not over eve-radio's broadcast >.<) it might have turned out better.

In this case, sure, but EVE Radio does giveaways in lottos like this all the time. I've been playing EVE for three weeks and I've taken part in two contests and listened to another two, as well as the frequent 1M trivia prizes they have and whatnot. That's a lot of spamming if they advertised all their contests in these forums.

Please make sure you post with a character that clearly shows you're a member of EVE-Radio before putting a contest on the forums.
