Will my covert op ship de-cloak if I run into a warp bubble?
Simple and to the point.
Thanks

Only if there is something at the egde where you land. And there is typically a ship there for this very reason.

Depends on your luck.
If you warp from an expected direction, and the bubble deployer has littered the entry area (with couple ships, cans or corpses), you are very likely to uncloak.
And the theory part:
To uncloak you need to be within 2.0 kms from some object. When you warp in a bubble, your entry placements depends on random 2.5km radius variation in the warp end point, and on your target (insta) BM placement.
So, if you use normal 'warp to gate' from expected direction, and there is lone ship standing exatcly along the warp line, you have small chance not to uncloak (i.e. you end up 2.0 - 2.5 km from the ship).
Or in sumamry: if you suspect a cloak, warp from odd direction at least.

The bubble will not decloak you, but the Mobile Warp Disruptor itself will. I've managed to land in the middle of a few of these bubbles while cloaked and had to sneak to the gate past patrolling Interceptors; that sure gets your pulse going...

A covops pilot should have no excuse to get caught in a bubble. You should know when such a camp is up before getting caught with your pants down. If you suspect a bubble camp warp to 50km or 100km instead of 15km or an insta. Check situation, warp away and back to insta if its clear, or just put AB on and close the gap.

This is wrong. If you warp to a gate at 100km, you will still be caught by the bubble, so long as the bubble is on the line between your warp in point and the stargate. If you want to not die, warp in from a planet or suchlike, rather than the last gate. You wasted 4 seconds reading this post and you'll never get those back. |

Someone obviously has no idea how bubbles really work.
You will get sucked into the bubble no matter what range you come in at if the bubble is lined up properly.
You'd need to come in from a different direction to avoid getting sucked in.

and warping in from odd directions often won't work, not against good gate camps, as they'll have several bubbles, lined up to the nearest/most prominent celestial bodies
only real choice is to do a scan from afar and if you pick up the gate camp/bubbles either wait it out or get a midwarp between two celestial bodies that a bubble will most likely NOT be lined up to... obviously, this depends on what system you're in, some won't really give you this option
then warp in at range and crawl to the gate
but hell that's a lot of work

The decloak code is... quirky. It is for example possible to land pretty much in physical contact with a gate (not just at 0m but actually right up on the structure) and stay cloaked, at least on your client.

It will not. Furthermore, littering the area with objects to decloak a ship used to be considered an exploit. Not sure if it still is or not. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

I learned that one the other day vs an interdictor bubble, hurt like hell.. but I get more crazy now that I don't have those pesky implants ----------- /wtb Eris in a cage Sorry, she's not for sale. You can get Imaran for free though - Wrangler can I at least get someone decent? Sure, I'll let you know when I find one - Wrangler |

ALLWAYS haev biomass on your overview, NOTHING more anoying than a corpse rumbling you with 300million ities and a billion snipers at a gate... well, 5 inties and 11 snipers... still scary as hell trying to cloak again while frantically navigateing away from things you cant see!
