------------------------------------------ R.O.A vs Xelas Alliance Kill Report | ------------------------------------------
Kills: 86 -------------- Assault Frigate: 1 Battleship: 3 (faction BS: 1- Machariel) Battlecruiser: 1 Capsule: 30 Cruiser: 6 (faction cruiser: 1 - Vigilant) Covert Ops: 1 Destroyer: 1 Frigate: 20 Interceptor: 2 Industrial: 8 Mining Barge: 1 Shuttle: 12
Losses: 1! ------------ Cruiser: 1 (Vigilant)
Was a very difficult war in the respect of finding targets. Xelas did a very good job in shutting up shop and stopping us from getting easy targets so hats off to you for that.
There is still an option open to the employer to extend this beyond 1 week.
So see you in space ladies and gents

Hmm nice job..
Like how you pointed out the Vigilant as a "faction cruiser" in the kills but not in the losses.

it does state Vigilant in the losses, so it doesnt exactly take a masters degree to figure out

probably because it's been established that it's a faction cruiser?

Should've left it Cruiser: 1 in order to be more accurate . But i added the ship's name in brackets exactly for the sole purpose to hide the fact that it was a faction cruiser. ROA Forums |

The good guys have 130-150 kills per 1 death and the noob (me) has 35-40 per 1 death. --------------------------------------

That should be more accurate

You know, not to deflate anyone's parade, but 60 something of those kills were pods, shuttles or frigates. I'm not saying you guys didn't do well, I just don't understand why people count kills like having a 10:1 ratio is the be-all, end-all of PvP when you can lose a T2 fitted BS worth 100M and have that be the "1", or 10 crappy T1 frigs as the "10".

if you had been reading the various comments dotted around this forum on the contract, xelas pretty much docked the moment a single hostile entered the system. it's a bit hard to get kills when your target keeps running :)

This is true. However often times you can not control what enemy targets you come across. It'd be cool if you could force your enemies to undock in the ships of your choosing, it just doesnt work that way. Anyways it'd be hard to argue that ROA didnt exceed all expectations in their first contract. Looks like eve may have a new top tier merc corp. Who ever hired them really got their isks worth here.

What about counting the losses you got to Huffe Technologies in Udianor? As Udianor is one of the chokepoint between empire and Fountain it is my opinion you tried to set up camp there and ergo that those losses are war related.
So I'd add :
Battlecruiser: 1 (Ferox) Battleship: 1 (Dominix) Cruiser: 1 (Moa) Pod: 1
Also when tailed, heading to a known gatecamp is IMHO a valid tactic. Pirates can serve a valid purpose after all...

well if the player with the t2 BS dies and looses 100mil, often they have more than a few hundred mil to replace it. with the "crappy" t1 frigs, they are flying it because A)they cant afford better, B)dont have skills to fly better, C)Cant afford to loose a 100mil isk BS.
it comes down to the base arguement in the goonies thread. "goonies killed 80% of so and so, whilst loosing just 5% of their players." sure goons loose more, but as a percentage its nothing. to alot of ppl flying t2 BS, 100mil is nothing as a percentage of their wealth. Compared to the player in the frig, the 500k (ship+fittings) they loose is a lot of isk, or by loosing that ship it avoids them loosing something like their t2 BS, which they cant afford to loose.

Well as you have said as well those have not been lost to Xelas. And we "tried" to set up camp there? If we wanted to setup camp there we would've set it up...period. That Dominix was mine and i just went through there at the wrong time. Also those losses are posted on our killboard for reference:

Should we also count the kills made by us of random factions everywhere around the universe stating 'It was on the route to killing Xelas, ergo relevant to the war'
Doesnt make sence now, does it

My point was that you being there was directly war related. It was nothing random. I got shot at by an Eagle Thursday, had I not been able to flee, I was headed to Ostingele really hoping to jump in a SNIGG camp. You can call me crazy :-)

dont forget that many of the kills that you guys mad were of abandoned shuttles and frigs inspace because they were players who have not logged on for over 3 months, so about 40 of your kills shouldnt be counted,
and in regards to a pod with implants if you in 0.0 yuor a noob if you fly with ur implants in. get a jump clone
