Heres something i came up with whilst farting about with quickfit: ==[ FEROX ]==

It does (according to quickfit) around 230dps. Not too bad, concidering what my missile setup does (80dps ftl!). Other than being incredibly slow, and rather easy to get away from, i dont see any problems with this setup? How do you think it would do in the field? Any improvements? (btw please spare me the "your setup sucks heres mine use it instead" posts) kthx :D

Brutix is better suited for this, but if its what you wanna do then go for it, changes I'd make to it are web and a/b or mwd.
But tbh, like I said if close up blasting is what you wanna do I'd suggest training for Brutix.

The beauty of setups like this, especailly in pvp is that they are so unexpected.... yes a brutix would be better, but it wouldn't be supprising.
This kinda idea makes a great bait for the unsuspecting. I use a eagle on occasion in the same manner because for one, it can still shoot out to 15 km if needed, and 2, the general concensus is that get within 10km of an eagle and it's dead.
I gave a vaga the shock of a lifetime with this setup once :-)

Swap out that fourth damage mod for something less useless, 4 damage mods is overkill. 3 is the maximum I would use, personally.
And unless you get uber warp ins from your covert ops alt or something, you're going to want to fit an afterburner at the very least.. MWD probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

I wouldn't waste time with an AB, the speed increase is not worth the slot in my opinion. The 10mn MWD can get you to about 1000 m/s, the 10mn AB can get you to about 300 m/s, base speed I think is around 150-200 m/s. This of course is all subject to skill points and these are the numbers using my 3 mil sp character.
If you are going blasters, then speed and a webber are almost a must. 230 DPS is no good if the target is not in range.

very low missile skills ? with t2 equip (only 2 balistics) I do about 180-190 DPS with missiles at much longer ranges. ------------------------------ if you want peace, prepare for war ... ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

Yea... One of my corp mate tried a vulture (god that ship is worthless) with blaster fitting.. About 400DPS with Void. Not that great, but vultures are cheap.
I'd still go for a missile based ferox fitting over that.

I'd be using Null M ammo, I'd switch one mag stab II for a tracking enhancer II and I'd switch one warp disruptor for a tracking computer II. 9.3km optimal, 6.25km falloff with decent tracking.

I had a go against a Vulture setup like that in a T2 Megapulse Geddon with 4 Damage mods.
I ran out of cap with his shield at 25% with 40% of my armor left.
Its not a Slepinir but theyre able to tank a lot of damage.

i have a different approach
highslots: 5x ion t2, 1x medium nos and 1x small nos
med slots: 10mn abt2, med cap injector with 800 charges, 20k scram, 2x td t2
lowslots: 1x med repper t2, 2x ean t2, 1x pdu t2
i only use null ammo because of the optimal bonus u get. with that the ship bonus is worth alot more. u will win almost against every turret ship ingame (expet those damn vagas ) with the 2 tracking disruptor t2
not as good as a brutix but still fun to fly

with null ammo u dont necesarily need a web. u can fairly easy reach 10-15km with that ammo. and because u lack a mwd u dont get inrange of the small ships anyway. so a web is not that important. but still u can simply drop 1 tracking disruptor and fit a web instead. not that much difference

Train your missile skills? With 5 T2 heavies, 2 named 200mm rails, and 5 light drones, my raw DPS are atleast double that, probably up to around 200ish, and it won't die as it slowboats for 30minutes to reach a stationary target. If you can't fit a MWD on a blaster setup, I'd suggest not using it, or you're dead before you get in range.

As for the mids...definately need MWD in that. No point in having a "Blasterox" if you can't get anywhere near them. Need a Webber too. Assume everything below is named or T2.
Highs: - same as OP setup
Mids: - Warp Scrambler - Webifier - 10mn Microwarpdrive - Invulnerability Field - Large Shield Booster/Large Shield Extender II
Los: - Magnetic Field Stabalizer x2 - RCU 2x maybe?
Haven't run it through QF but that should fit I'd imagine. ---------
