I don't know where to start.
First you have these endless resources on the forums. So many things that will help every new player or old playing EVE. You decided to have no search feature what so ever! What's that all about? I mean this must be the only forum in the world that does not have a search built in. Why in earth don't you have it? You trying to get people to have hard time? If your are telling me that search will take bandwidth, you must think again. All the bandwidth is going to "next" button when you are trying to find answer for single question or problem. I know you are very busy guys, but please don't give slack on these forums and page. What type of forums is this anyway? Is it programmed by you guys? Then stick with game design and don't try to reinvent the forum thing!
Don't flame me back by telling me that I can use Google site feature... blah blah blah, and it's so easy to use search-on-otherpage.com or whatever.
There are hundreds of people that donÆt know that you have to use other sites to search on you site.
The help channel in EVE is crowded by people asking the same questions over and over again. People are asking other people the same questions over and over again. Forums were built for one purpose, and CCP just stepped out of that revelation by taking the only thing that makes forum a forum! I need informationÆs, and when I get stuck or have a question I GO to the forums and SEARCH like everyone else in the world! If you donÆt have time to do it, give the man a slack that set this forum up to fix this at least. CCP too poor to hire someone to actually fix this matter-that-has-been-sitting-on-your-desk-so-long? Then stick a Donate button on the page and ill bet you get enough money to pay for a programmer and ice cream for everyone! TRUST me guys, and I really promise you that having a good solid forums and updates news on the front page will really make a lot of people happy and life easier like for me! I'm a paying customer of 5 accounts, and I can nag as much as I want. The only news you really update is to brag off how many people were logged on at the same time. There are plenty of people in the game that are so experienced that will post news daily and really take care of it for very little or no cost. CUSTOMER SERVICE GUYS... I'm Icelandic like you! Woohoooo, aint that wonderful? NO because I know how our tradition in customer service is BAD until someone like me yells inside the store.
LISTEN to the PEOPLE! Work with the PEOPLE! It's so little thing but does incredible much. Get some search on the forums at least! I just know how many flames I will get back by writing this, and I truly promise you that I don't care. IÆm not here to debate my opinion on this matter or defend myself. I'm not even going to look at the replies. The main reason I wrote this is because I have asked CCP in the "OTHER PETITION" department if there is any search feature I can use on EVE and I'm still pending after 2 years. CUSTOMER SERVICE CCP!
It's only matter of time when someone copies your game and have search feature on the forums, and what a paradise that will be :) We are supposed to have it nice so we keep paying you remember? Business 101

omg you still don't get it do you. The lack of eve-online forum search function is just another time-sink that will help CCP with its main objective, conquering the world.

CCP has been wise enough to license the product in China already - the only country with a significant market and a dodgy perspective on international copyright law.

Personally, I don't think a search function is necessary. All the interesting finds you come across as you spend your morning browsing all these pages.

They have Forum Search
Check this out at the FanFest 2005 they showed a picture of the yellow one so yeah they have a $30k search engine for you

Except the EVE google search is still in development and sucks bad atm. But they'll get there, hopefully not too fast ;) I want all those hits on eve-search.com hehe

I would have to agree with you fully, in no means is this a personal attack on CCP in any means shape or form but I can say that the more I read these forums it has become a real issue.
Sure there are those few who seem to be on the CCP bandwagon but for the most part thier is always a new post of another unsatisfied customer or someone who feels as though they are being pushed aside and having the ticket passed with nothing resolved.
Then thier are those who would respond " well if you dont like it then leave" attitude.
Seeing I have been fortunate enough to be able to make the right investments and be at the right place at the right time was I able to retire at the young age of 40...comfortably I might add as well.
The reason I say this is cause I know a little about business and customer relations, You can have the best sales picth and a great product but if the customer feels as though they are being ignored or not treated as a valued customer ..they will go elsewhere.. plain and simple.
With the Gaming industry being so competive nowadays, Good customer care is a must as we all know there is always someone right around the corner with something newer and better. As they say " Your not the only Game in Town".
With all this being said, I can only hope to see some closure in this issue seeing that I think it will only come back to haunt CCP in the future, and it would be a shame to see it go under seeing I think it is a nice game and has great potential.
Hiding behind a EULA that looks like it was written by a jailhouse lawyer isnt the answer.

Notwithstanding the fact that you overlooked the sticky about the search page, you clearly lack the aptitude to use it properly.
In the time it took to compose your rant, you could have read the sticky, gone to the search page and found whatever you needed... if such a tool was truly useful to you.
If you were expecting to be led by the hand, then you will be disappointed. Even if they implemented a search function within the board itself, you'd find something else to complain about - because when you're oblivious and self-centered there will always be something to stymie you.
Pity that your intellectual aptitude doesn't measure up to your arrogance - or you'd be able to solve the matter yourself.
It's not that you're 'roleplaying a jerk'... it's a matter of typecasting. |

In the time it took you to flame this guy, you could have written atleast 3-4 helpfull informative posts that, if enough people chose to do it, would drastically reduce cries for help like this.
Flaming on forums is probably the easiest thing one can do on teh intarweb!
To prove this point:
You have no bussiness pointing out other peoples arrogance with replies like these, in my ever so humble opinion.
PS: I also would like to suggest that aforementioned search features are linked from within the player guide if they arent allready.

We have http://search.eve-online.com/, though it's still being developed. It works, but it's not that great yet.
Or you can use this nice player created search: http://www.eve-search.com/ until our search engine is done.
