So recently I was bored and looking at Jita chat when I saw this guy posting about a website that sold things. I went on the website (http://eve-bazaar.com/) and looked around. The first thing I noticed was that I didn't need to create an account. As I browsed objects that could be bough, I saw that they were selling PLEX for 575 mil. I was bored and stupid, so I deposited 555 mil (they gave 20 mil when you went on their website). Then afterwards, I waited 7 hrs until I went on the website again and was prompted to get my PLEX until this page popped up:
Hello,
If you are reading this it means you have deposited some ISK on our website and that ISK is gone... but keep on reading if you want to learn how you can earn it back.
You can start sharing your referral link in order to bring other people to our website and when they'll deposit ISK you will get 30% commission of everything they deposit + 5m ISK for every new signed up user.
Why should you do this?
Because you can easily earn your ISK back and even make a profit out of it after that.
How do I know this will work?
It worked on you, didn't it? People will come on the website and deposit ISK, if it's done via your Referral Link then you get a big slice of everything they deposit.
How do I cash out?
Whenever you gather more than 100m ISK in commission and you wish to cash it out, you can do so from our Withdraw Page.
How do I know this Referral System is legit?
You don't. But what do you have to lose? You will be convinced that we actually payout our Referrals soon enough if you decide to join the program.
So, if you've read this far you should know you have before you an opportunity to generate ISK, beyond any other profession in EVE could ever generate for you.
Your website account is already modified to give you 30% commission (instead of the normal 10%), so from this point on you can start sharing your Referral Link, which can be found on your Referral Page.
For any questions related to this program feel free to email us at: [email protected] Good Luck!
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
They are actually getting people to scam for them. lol. So I talked to the original guy who referred me and he told me that he wasn't working for them and that he would get 5 mil from referring one person and 10% of all the isk that person deposited. Shady huh?
So now I don't have any more money and I am really depressed, but I hope there won't be too many others like me (the guy said he referred a lot of people. I don't think he'll get his referral money)

Before making (very) stupid affirmations perhaps you should spend, oh I don't know 5 minutes, reading about the interaction between websites and eve client: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/IGB_Headers
Do you really think CCP would allow in-game browser if just anyone would be able to steal your account info?... (retorical question aka don't answer) |

I vouch 100% for my good friend paying out on referrals as promised. Just the other day, someone earned himself 200m at the 10% level. You're really lucky to be getting 30%, so get out there and bring in business! However, out of hundreds, if not thousands of customers, you're only the second I've heard of that had some sort of problem with your purchase. I can assure you, he does not need a new site regardless of the accusations in this thread.
When I read the title, I thought this was some discount PLEX trade window thing. I just so happen to be a wholesaler in that market, so if anyone needs large volumes of Jita special PLEX, let me know. See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did. |

Could you tell us what about this system makes it not a pyramid scheme?
I've no problem with people scamming in Eve, it's a feature of the game. But call a spade a spade.
I spotted a link to this thing yesterday, went on to check it out thinking there is no way they are actually giving people 20m ISK for free so was curious what the catch was. When I saw there was nothing cheap available on the market I knew it was a scam. I think the cheapest items were in the hundreds of millions. Nothing cheap to test it out on tells me they don't want people testing it. |

Your 3 ticks are all wrong, stop being poor and ignorant. This is a retail business that offers a commisson for sales you bring in. It's no more a pyramid scheme than Amazon. You're just throwing around words you heard before in the wrong context thinking it sounds smart.
I would create a massive pyramid scheme in Eve to show you what it is, but I'm an honest business person, so you'll just have to find education elsewhere. Start with the wiki link that was linked by a person who didn't even read what he linked. See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did. |

the fact that most of these proles think this is a pyramid scheme, or that this is the first time someone's done something like this, in eve shows that they are either brand-new to the game or are totally ignorant of what's going on around them. a good example of a pyramid scheme (also not the first) would be the eve bank. you can google it.
pyramid schemes are based around bringing in more isk than you regularly pay out. this is just giving you a commission for making someone feel stupid. there's an enormous difference. i make spreadsheets for pretty cheap. contact me for more info.

Delivered in six days as promised at 10% under market. OK, looks good. Let's try four more. If they are going to scam me, well, I can wear that loss and I'll just refer people to make the ISK back.
Yep, delivered again.
Not saying that I'd trust the site as much as I'd trust Erotica 1, Chribba or James 315, but they definitely seem legit. I gave them the opportunity to scam me for 416 million ISK and they didn't bite. I'm honestly inclined to believe that this site is a bunch of 'Minerals I Mine Are Free' useful idiots.
Just placed another order, this time for two Phobos hulls. Well I have to admire their pyramid scheme. They're probably selling ships at cost to advertise it.

What? I deposited 100,000,000 ISK and then together with the 20 million bonus, bought the Proteus for 117 million ISK.
15 minutes after the order I received a contract in game and the Proteus was delivered.
The system worked exactly as advertised and I saved between 50-80 million ISK, which pays for almost 2 fully fit Ishkurs.
Just a simple and honest business deal and that is 100% my experience. Nothing but positive.
So what responsibility am I supposed to be removing exactly?

EVE-Bazaar do not in any way take part in illicit RMT, which is what the article you mentioned is talking about. The site is simply a way to trade in-game ISK for in-game items.
I'd have to check (next time I place an order with them perhaps) but I don't even think they touch game time cards.
If you do find evidence of EVE-Bazaar offering to trade in-game items for RL currency (which I'm confident they do not do), petition it and also send it to me so that I can sever all ties with them. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=318489 - Proposal for a new type of tech 2 Destroyer If you want to mine in highsec, read www.minerbumping.com. |

How does any service sustain itself by selling goods below market prices AND giving a further cut or cuts of the low price as "commission" to third parties? Those using this service are hoping to profit; obviously those giving the service are hoping to profit too, right?
How do they both profit?
It's a reasonable question. |

Clearly they think the ore they mine is free. I don't feel guilty at all buying stuff cheap due to their laziness. See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did. |

So, in other words, you think the ISK that fills in the 20-40% margins of lost value at Eve Bazaar comes from a cabal of miners and industrialists who ALL just never realized that the ore they mine has value?
And these people have been mining and functionally giving away their ore for as long Eve Bazaar has been functional, and none of them in that time caught on to the fact that they were working at a loss?
And that at least one of these people has the intelligence and experience necessary to design a website like Eve Bazaar, but still hasn't caught on to the fact that he/she is giving away ISK?
Come on now, there's a much more realistic explanation but I don't think you want to say it. |

so call the authorities?
last time I checked offering goods for payment in the real world and not delivering is fraud I don't believe a stand alone 3rd party website is protected by CCPs concept of metagaming when operating in the real world they fall under the jurisdiction of local laws
offering up PLEX (game time) for payment or trade and not delivering runs afoul of a lot of consumer laws
I still think its brilliant, a truly great scam, but its approaching illegal when it is done outside of the game.
CCP won't do anything about it though, don't even bother |

As I understand it, they are dealing with ISK (which has no real monetary value). If you were buying stuff with your credit card, then yes, you'd probably have a case for fraud. |

faith is a rare commodity in this godless age. If more people had faith there would be less people unfairly calling you a scammer. Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85 |

The site has been experiencing some issues due to excessive traffic. My referral link seems to be coded specially as some sort of friends and family deal, because everyone has been getting their stuff just fine with it, whether it be 10m or 50b. You'll have to use an alt. Just evemail me if you want the link. See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did. |

You know its a good scam when you can get your victims to keep doing what you want even after they've supposedly gotten wise to it. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Hilarious to see most of the people defending EVE's community on a blatant advertisement for funding RMT by scamming people.
What an incredibly honest and friendly community CCP encourages
..... Never have I seen a more wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy.
Too bad nobody advertises and markets eve like this, "forget the space spreadsheet boring as hell 'thousand player fights'.... come to New Eden and enjoy the thrills of being the target of scheming dickheads that make Bernie Madoff look like a saint"

The more I'm exposed to the forums, the more I get the feeling CCP is running the biggest scam in gaming.
