Funny thing happened to me recently. I was reading the forums the last few days, and it seems that every post by ccp seems to make sense. Like really make sense in a way that it has never before. It may just be little things, however a lot of them are regarding the patch's and concepts for things they are doing. Hmm its kinda like they actually are listening to the players. Kinda makes sense since we play the game and have been telling them whats broke and not since day one. Either way keep it up ccp you show promise. |

No, and if you had any clue about how much our old CMs loved this community and cared about our input and the like, you would be filled with shame for even suggesting it. |

they dont represent me thats for sure. i for one have never been contacted by one, or ever seen a thread where they would like input from us. until the day comes that we ALL have our say in the game. The CSM is a group of LARGE alliance members voting for what they want to see happen. VIVA MITTENS-ONLINE |

yeah and once the expansion comes out lets see how much the goons profit from knowing whats going to happen ahead of time. i have said this before and ill say it again. the CSM is a form of insider trading and large alliances should not be allowed to have members in it. ESPECIALLY if they have CCP employees in that alliance. |

I think the old ones where too much of a chokepoint between us and the developers. Sure they where very much into the community but i often felt they werent the best in getting the word out on what ccp was doing. I mean if you look around now there have been much more other developers that are not even community managers replying to our threads these days and the current selection of CMs have much more back and forth between players and the other devs a bit too busy to bother with us yet.

So effective we had the car crash that was Incarna. Sorry I don't think the CSM serves any useful pupose and is a waste of time and resources. If CCP truly wants to know what players think, all they have to do is look at the player chatter and feedback. In theory the CSM is a good thing for us. In practice they are used for damage control and P.R. and can be another barrier between the playerbase and CCP. I would also add that they are not representantive of the demographics of EVE and therefor give a distorted picture to CCP of what the players actually want.
But all this in neither here nor there, if Incarna has shown us anything, it is if CCP has chosen a path there is very little the players or CSM can do but unsub. |

Lady, must we attribute all these nice changes to the CSM? Must it always be "leaders" that affect change? Or was it the mass of many outraged "pubbies" that led the way and influenced the change in focus?
Btw, which is larger, the mass of a certain number of pubbies or a similar number of goons? Or at large enough numbers does the difference become meaningless? |

I've heard it rumored that many of the devs were chagrined to be working on WiS and the other endeavors CCP had been pursuing and had many great ideas or desires to implement other's great ideas but were unable.
Now, after Hilmar-gate the shackles have been removed and they're falling over themselves to work on what they were initially hired to do.
That's my feeling on it
