Edited by: Aaro''ne Erviale on 11/04/2006 06:52:35 Hello all,
Eve Galactic Stock Exchange is looking for experienced and well known traders to become stock broker! (The stock broker is a trusted player who buys and sells stock shares of the different publicly owned corporations.)
I myself am, since a few weeks, CEO of the Eve Galactic Stock Exchange. The original members/founders of the corporation have left and i inherited the source code of their stock exchange website. I constructed a new site with some serious changes.
In the original business plan they constructed their own broker character EGSE, but because of serious trust issues/scam opportunities I changed this. In the new business plan I've replaced the one EGSE character with serveral trusted brokers. These are characters from outside the EGSE corporation who broker the different stock orders and transactions. So people can decide who they do business with. From the moment 1 broker is active (Ervinia Daisy - Ample Shipyards - Daikoku Trade Syndicate) at the site and several corporations are entered in the database.
The responsibilities of the broker job are the following: - you add yourself as broker to one of the listed corporations (others can be added by me) - people can now choose you as their "trusted" broker for putting up a buy or sell order of that corporation. - they need to give you the money for buying the ordered shares (+ broker fee) or give you the shares they want to put up for sale. - the order is then approved by you - now the order appears on the "exchange"-page and people can start buying or selling from/to this order by creating transactions. - again they need to wire the money (BUY transaction) + broker fee to you and you give them the shares or give you the shares (SELL transaction) and you give them the money.
The broker fee is where the broker makes profit out of this (the broker can put up your own personal broker fee (%)). e.g. you ask 2.5%, then people need to pay 3.5% broker fee (2.5% for you, 1% for EGSE).
If you think this is something for you or if you have remarks or questions, please feel free to join the EGSEx channel, contact me or reply here. Corporations that want their ticker on the exchange, just let me know!
If you want to get an idea of the service offered or read the complete business plan please visit: http://eve.hubau.be/ IGB only for buying and selling. The site is just out after several days of testing, on the outgame side you can only view the exchange.
Greetz,

I'm applying for the stock broker position!
I think that I have gained the trust of some of my fellow EVE-players, especially the ones I play with all the time and I am willing to act as a stock broker for their/your stock transactions.
I really hope this idea can be expanded in the future, with lots of corporations on the market and lots of people trading, thereby influencing the stock market.
Many of you have lost interest in the EGSE , I've heard, because of the former actions (or no actions, better said) from Countess Oracle and other people, but this is just to inform you that those characters are in no way responsible/capable of the EGSE corp and the EGSE itself. Anyone who is willing to go into the broker business, drop by any time in the EGSEx channel tonight or any other time, I'll probably be in it.
I hope that, in time, I can gain the trust and respect of lots of people, so we can build up a healthy business relationship.
So, eum, reporting in !!

I talked at length with Aaro'ne two days ago, and it is good to see this business come back into play (first public corporate turn-around?).
Seems like there's a lot of action on the financial front; I look forward to keeping track of EGSE's progress. Beyond that, my share holdings may indeed to turn out to be worth more than what I origonally paid!
(their public chat channel is "EGSEx" - didnt see it listed earlier...)

Thank you all for your interest in EGSE. I'll try and talk to all of you ingame later today (longer DT, so fingers crossed ) to get you signed in as trusted broker and setup your personal broker fee.
I think the exchange can become operational and open to the public very soon now. And people can start adding buy and sell orders. If you think that some more corporations should be added to the database, just send me an eve-mail with the corpnames and tickers.

Hmm... won't multiple stock brokers be fairly useless considering there are only a handful of corperations (a douzen or so) that publicly sell shares? ___________________________________

I agree that there is a low number of share issuing corporations on the market at the moment, but there wont be a better time to provide a service such as this since interest in this new market is vastly increasing.
Good luck with the Venture.

The reason why to have multiple stock brokers is to provide people with a choice! They can choose who they trust their money or shares to! So maybe you trust broker A because you know his corp or alliance, and I trust broker B because he's a friend of mine ... etc
Do your homework and research the broker you trust your money or shares to! Convo him or his corporation/alliance, ask other people doing business with him ...
So in the end, should your deal go wrong then it's only because you misplaced your trust.

I haven't seen you online yet, just drop me an evemail or join the EGSEx channel for a chat.
I really just need to know the broker fee (percentage) you're gonna ask, to put you up as a broker. Your reputation speaks for itself

There are currently shares for sale from Redstorm Rising, ISS Borealis Outpost, Templi Cube Productions and the Big Merchant Bank of Eve...
So have a look at the prices and consider buying some
