Ganking being called pvp is like calling someone getting mugged for $8 a grand heist.

No one is calling it "grand pvp" scrub, they are just calling it pvp, which equals player vs player

simple equation. If I bring a 1000 man gang to kill your 50 frigates is that not pvp? maybe not grand pvp but definetly pvp.

Similarly, PvP combat must involve both sides engaging in combat. The industrial/miner pilot is not, therefore it's not truly PvP combat.

PvP, yes. In the same way that two traders competing for the highest buy order are engaging in PvP.

Also, for those of you who were like 'but is teknicaly pvp!1!', read it again 'scrubs'. Barely mean it does qualify.

So where does the term barely fit in? It either is, or it isn't.

I've been busy now for several years trying to keep the prices of wormhole materials from deflating.

To do this I basically have to "gank" anything that moves. More often than not, I am met with abject hostility and hate mail. It is very rare to get a "gf" or any positive comments in Local. This happens even though everyone is clearly told not to fly more than they can afford to lose. And if they do lose "everything", they act like it's my fault for ganking them. Like if you wave around a steak in front of a Grizzly it's the Grizzly's fault.

Eventually it has worn down my self-image and now I have to gank even more to feel good about myself. It is a vicious cycle.

OP receives hatemail and personal insults for playing the game. He doesn't break the game, he doesn't attack his targets in any RL capacity (unlike his victims, who are known for viciously and quickly escalating their engagement to RL insults and threats), he doesn't beat his kids, he doesn't rob banks, he doesn't murder, or cheat on his taxes.
