Edited by: Alacor on 11/04/2006 09:26:07 Plz CCP let carrier pilots see the the status of their fighters when they are delegated to others. Its really annoying losing them because you don't know what their status is.
Edit: Status=shield, armor and Hull HP. |

Agreed, this is very annoying, and costly.
Since you can't warp to your fighters... which I don't understand since they are piloted ships, they should beable to submit location reports back to the carrier and gang, i.e. every Battle Star Gallactica/etc style scifi...

The damage status of drones and fighters is only available to the client when the drone is in the same location. There is unfortunately currently no way to change this behavior. The pilot that has control of the fighters should make sure that they are not damaged too much and reassign them back to the carrier.

Thing is if the fighters are "freelancing" after a target which is warping around the system, the fighters are totaly un-monitored which is quite a worry. It might not be a current possibility to change this atm, but it should be pretty high up on the to do list to make it changeable tbh.

Either that or cut their build requirements by 75%. Their damage is a bit underwhelming anyway...with Carrier IV and Fighter IV.

Give it time, when they add the skills for the drone controls you'll be seeing better damage per carrier
DPC
Thantos level 4 fighters hits for up to 1100 per fighter, times that by 13 with normal skills. signature removed - please email us if you want to know why - Oldmailman([email protected])

Carrier X delegate fighters to pilot Y. Y has the fighters in his grid. Y still cant see any updates of the fighters health.
We found that out 2 days ago, when i had smartbombs active and i was like "oh, smartbombs doesnt affect my own fighters, neat !" *boom* *boom* "... or the client just doesnt update the health :/"

I was under that impression too, with wreckings up in the 1500 range. However, with Carrier IV and Fighters IV trained, plus all the usual drone skills maxed (if they even affect fighters), I'm still doing 500 wrecking thereabouts. I have yet to see ANYTHING over a thousand against either corpmates in pvp setups or rats in belts. This is both with and without drone tracking mods and target painters.

Fighter drones should collect damage information and update the owner crossgrid once a second, telling him how much DPS they're doing to their target. Should be doable with a simple message routing system and would eat almost zero CPU cycles. Afterall, not everyone flies a carrier.
