Har Ganeth	Posted - 2006.04.12 00:07:00 - [7] Edited by: Har Ganeth on 12/04/2006 00:07:52 Fit multispecs or sensor damps in mids instead of the painters.... you also don't need 6 mag stabs. Stacking penalties mean it's really not worthwile. Fit 3 mag stabs and 3 tracking enhancers.
Karch	Posted - 2006.04.12 00:08:00 - [8] Excellent thread for me. I just bought my first Megathron (and Gallente BS) last week and was kitting it out for Sniping. With around 3 million in Gunnery skills (and rising) I cannot use T2 Large Rails yet, but I am working on that. Right now I have 425mm Carbide Railguns and Compressed Coil Guns (goddamn large guns are expensive!). I was getting around 107km OPtimal with T1 Ammoo (Iron). I was playing with a friend who just bought a Stealth Bomber and he wanted to try his Cruise Missiles + Cloak on me. I let him, then tested my guns (which he insisted wouldn't work). Haha, jokes on him. I really didn't think they would be so successful on a frigate when the Sig Radius on those is 400. But hey, was a fun time. :) Now I just have to try Blasterthron. I have something like: Hi: 3x 425mm Compressed Coil Guns 4x 425mm Carbide Railgun Mid: 2x Tracking Enhancers 2x Sensor Booster I Lo: 2x Tracking Enchancers 1x 1600mm Plate 3x Passive Hardeners 1x Large Armor Repairer (named) Slightly odd combination I do say, but like I said I am a Sniper + Gallente BS n00b. Anything past two Mag Stabs (or named) in lower is pointless me thinks. ---------

You won't be wrecking like that fitting gyrostabs, as they're damage mods for projectiles rather than hybrids. You want magnetic field stabilizers. Also, the current stacking penalty makes fitting more than 3 damage mods fairly questionable, and more than 4 pretty pointless. Whether it works on the real server or not is anyones guess, but it was fun... 7 mega modal neutrons 1 medium nos 2 90% webs (can drop a web to fit a tracking disruptor... helps on the approach) 1 100mn mwd 1 20km scrambler 1 large armour repairer II 1 1600mm rolled tungsten 3 mag stab IIs 2 cap relay

I've seen alot of dual rep(LARs, IIRC), 3 hardner Blasterthron setups, with a MWD, and blasters. --------------- My views do not reflect the views of my corp, or my own views.

Nebuli	Posted - 2006.04.12 01:40:00 - [26] All my set ups tend to change slightly all the time, I have kinda generic set ups I work around and change things dependant on the situation, having said that as a starting point for rails I go with something like... 7 x 425mm II, 1 x rocket launcher II (only thing thatll fit and hate empty slots lol) 3 x sensor boosters, 1 x tracking cpu Large repper II, 3 adaptive nano II (with compensation skills all at 4) 2 x mag stab II, 1 x tracking enhancer II Spike ammo for long range, works realy well and the damage is good enough and a half decent tank, can swap out enhancer for a damage mod and drop rocket launcher, depends what range you want, get like 190k ish range with enhancer, maybe 165ish without and another damage mod, like I say it changes situation dependant. For Blasterthron I'm still not fully sure myself, but for tech I blasters atm I use, 7 x best named ions, normal mids, 2 x large repper, II, 3 x adaptive nano II, 2 x damage mods For tech II I'm using atm, 7 x Electron II with tech II ammo, carry both, large nos, best named, normal mids, 2 x large repper II, 3 x adaptive nano II, 1 x cpu II, 1 x damage mod Best tip I can give for any Mega pilot, buy yourself a cheap -3% to turret cpu use implant, very cheap and realy makes a difference. Disgruntled Postman	Posted - 2006.12.12 12:21:00 - [27] Here is a setup that I LOVED for my blasterthron: Highs: 7x Large Ions 1x heavy NOS Mids: 1x Heavy Cap Injector w/ 800s 1x 20km Warp Disruptor 1x 90% Web 1x 100mn MWD Lows: 1x LAR II 2x Active Kinetic Hardener 2x Acitve Thermal Hardener 2x Active Explosive Hardener Cargo: 1000 rounds of Antimatter L or Void L a few cap charges (800s) Medium can w/ Cap charges (800s) /rem lets you hold a few more cap charges Drones: 5x Explosive type heavies This setup works with minimal skills, However, you'll want to switch to this low slot setup as soon as you have the skills for it: 2x LAR II (might have a powergrid problem here) 4x EANM II 1x Mag Stab II The only problem this setup has against itself is tracking. An extra web, or tracking comp, or some webber drones should fix that. Piloting skill helps alot too. This setup is very nice for 1v1 against most ships if you know your warp tactics and you can get in rage quickly.

Susa Ou	Posted - 2006.12.12 15:15:00 - [29] Humm, I always tought the basic idea was: big rails on the top (425mmT2) tracking comps and sensor boosters in the mids 3 mags and as many tracking enhancers and signal amps as you see fit in the lows - the difficulty or variation in the setup being finding the right number of SB/TC in the mids and SA/TE in the lows to make those hits count and the locks fast and far. . . but I guess we are working with all sorts of things now.
