Why not have a piece of equipment (a.k.a Tractor Beam) that can allow you to sit still and suck in the containers within a certain range? Skill level would determine the number and size etc

The tractor beam just needs more advertising. I was blown away when I found out they existed.

I think my original post shows they need more advertising! Feel like a newbie again for the first time in 2.5 years!

what we need are...

Capital Tractor Beams. Huge range, large movement speed. That way, you can have a carebear friend in a dreadnaught pick up your loot after lvl1 missions

the tractro beam needs improveing with a skills bonus giveing it more range say 10% per level of research as this requres level 3 science so fits with the level 4 science need for the use of the tractor beam and add the ability of draging uncontroled drones

yep... 21km with cruise missile raven is a joke...

Much better would be a tractor beam that sucks in all can's with out having to lock target. So if there were 20 cans withing 20km of you they would all make there way to you at 500m/s

Tractor beam needs a boost, yeah. But that's going to require a new topic, this one's finished.
(20km is silly even in a heavy missile Ferox.)
