Edited by: NPDefender on 16/09/2003 20:22:42 If Jove empire was opened up, with restricted gates, frigates only, and no building in their space, that would solve the economy problems with this game, adjust the NPC in the sectors to match ships, and put all but 4 of the gates in 1.0 space, and the 4 others in deep 0.0 space.
Add a can shipping system to ship stuff from one end of the gate to the other, and that fixed almost every problem.
1. Opens trade as a real part of the game. 2. Solves shortages of ore's, and give new and old a even playground to learn, and grow. 3. Give builders a place to sell goods, make contracts with a new set of comanys, only in that space.

How would this somehow solve a problem?
The only thing I can see is that everyone who wants to kill players with lots of cargo would be sitting at those gates.

The Can shuttle system would solve the pirates waiting for ships, in the system, and if all the gates are in 1.0 space then the ships would be safe.

The large corporation and pkillers would simply move there in better equipped frigates.
What ore shortage? Ther is plenty of ore, people are just too lazy to mine it more than 1 system away from their home base.
This would solve nothing.

This would still give new people a change at getting rare ores, even with the old 0.0 corps.
There is not rare ore in space that any one not in a battleship, or with one for cover can go.

at the moment only hardcore gamers stick with eve after a few weeks cause lets face it its isent a pick up and go game . my solution is too make agent missions purely combat based - that way you will attract people who have only an hour of fun on there hands .be honest who actually enjoys the - go get 3 spiced wine missions ? . i dont . the ones where your in combat are fun . but those trader - miner ones are lame . if ccp wants tooo have a casual gamer base there gonna have too create somthing thats gonna interest them . only way too do that im thinking is combat through agents .

I like some of the transport and mining missions, they are VERY easy money.
Might be better to be able to 'request' mission types e.g. All, combat, transport or mining missions. If set to combat, 8 out of 10 mission you get offered will be combat, the others will be random or special.
That would make agents more fun. ======================================== Leodis Enteprises Corporation

Edited by: NPDefender on 22/09/2003 17:39:30 A agent mission with a gate pass to a restricted mining area, good for a week, would be good. Or a new user pass good for first 60 days to safe mining area that jumps from 1.0 space to a secure mining space with rare ores.

Actually, A system similar to Privateer, where you have the option of accepting one or more missions from a list is what I would rather see.
The list would (of course) include courier, NPC killing, retrieval missions, etc. You could accept whatever type and whatever number of missions you thought you could possibly handle within the time limits.
That way you could speed up the process of building up your standing with an agent, as well as get rid of some of the tedium involved with that 17th "transport these cows to X system" missions. ========================================== Hobbies: Seeking out the Village idiot and making sure I'm smarter. I totally agree... I loved privateer and would luv to be playing it right now while i mine with my new bs... Privateer did so much right, and when i started playing htis game I had hopes it migh tbe just as grand. Though it is only showing mere glimpses of what it could be, I hope CCP figures it out before they end up pulling the plug on us... I would realy hate to be forced to buy SWG simply because Eve wasn't around... SWG shudders... sony butchers another great liscence.

Need to find a safe and profitable place to the new guys to play or they will not stay past the trial month.

if we don't do something soon, this game will have 1/2 of the paying customer leave for anything near as good just because we can't keep new people. Hope CCP gets someone who is not a pirate lover to make some mods to the game soon, or we are doomed
