I'm using them in optimum range. I've got all my turret types to level 3 and gunnery at level 5. I've tried every type of ammunition.
Im using a Raven with the following:
2 x med - 220mm vulcan autocannon I 2 x med - 250mm railgun I 3 x cruise missile launcher 1 (these rarely miss)
Co-Processor I Ballistic Control System 1
I've tried small and medium turrets.
Any ideas what I'm missing or what I'm doing wrong? |

Well, i would like to point you towards battleclinic for some ideas on how to fit ships (only ideas guys, calllmmmmm)
Firstly using turrets on a raven is sub optimal. Being a Jack of all trades does not work well, even if you know what you are doing.
Secondly although you are in optimal range, are you shooting the optimal targets? Try hitting a fly buzzing around your head with a bazooka, that idea in this game is quite stressed.
Turrets suffer from issues regarding "tracking" which is in essence how fast the turret on your ship can spin, relative to how fast the target is flying around. If your guns can't keep up likely the ammo is going to be landing where your target was 3s ago.
If you look into the brand new and shiney "mastery" of a ship it will explain to you what skills are recommended to use a ship to a acceptable degree.
TBH jump in the newb help chat and start asking away. The games big, and you have a lot to learn. I would be here all day if i were to soley type out responses and give you pointers.
But i'll leave a handy list for you.
Start learning about how to optimally fit ships, what their uses are and when you should use what. Read up on mechanics behind all the weapons. They are individual and each play differently. Ask questions, there is no such thing as a dumb question in this game (except if you talk to some well known trolls that splerg **** all the time) Go back and learn some more. Play with other people. It's an MMo and you'll have the most fun and heartbreak interacting with others. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=298596&find=unread OATHS wants you. Umm .. first, you should never fit a turret on a Raven. The Raven gets a bonus to missile damage, so either fit Cruise Missile Launchers or Torpedo Launchers.
Second, use Drones to kill frigates.
Third, never use Meta 0 modules. Always use meta 4 modules. (Meta 3 if you are cheap, but you should not be cheap when fitting a battleship.) E.g. use 'Arbalest' Cruise Launchers, they are much better.
Fourth, turrets have a stat called tracking - this tells you how easily you can hit things that are orbiting you quickly. Using medium turrets, you'll have trouble hitting frigates. Using small, long range turrets, you'll still have trouble hitting frigates. Using small, short range turrets, your optimal will be less than 1k and I don't think frigates come that close, so you'll miss them because they are too far away. The Motion Prediction skill helps with tracking, as do tracking computer and tracking enhancers. Plus many ships that are meant to fit turrets have a bonus to tracking. But don't do any of that on a Raven, because, see point 1. |

So do you have the support skills for gunnery as they may help also never fit guns to a Raven as you get more bonus out of the missiles also drones!!!!! And finally don't mix guns. Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if your in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. |

I have a level of experience with missile ships that is just slightly above 0. However, I would be happy to add what I know. As others have stated the Raven is a ship with bonuses to missiles, so never fit turrets to it. If you wnjoy the raven, then begin developing your missile and shield skills so you can fly it effectively. If you really want to fly a turret based ship than its best to focus on one of the other 3 races and the skills that are associated with turrets. Also, you dont want to fit mid sizes weapons to a battle ship. Fit the appropriate weapon system and use your drones to attack the smaller tergets.
Also, are you using the appropriate ship class for your objective? If you are fighting mostly smaller targets then maybe you should ve using a cruiser or a bc. Its cool to fly a bs, but you are not going to get optimal results if you are using it outside its inteded purpose. Finally, even though the missiles are landing, they are likely wasting a lot of damage on smaller targets.
I hope some of this helps.

Remove all your other guns and replace them with cruise missile turrets. Get your missile skills levelled up. Make sure you use the right missiles for the job (EM missiles against drones, Kinetic missiles against Guristas Pirates, etc) Use your drones to kill the smaller ships.
Do the above and you'll own missions, make big ISK, and get all the space women. |

I was about to help with the fit...but don't even know where to start, there is just too much wrong.
OP, suggest you drop down to BC while working on fitting knowledge and core skills before moving on to Battleship.
Okay...I'm giving it a shot..
1. How have you tanked it. 2. Work on the core skills...a battleship should never be fitted with a Co-processor, specially if it's T1. 3. Work on the support skills...A T1 BCS...really. 4. It's a freaking Raven, why do you use guns. 5. If you use guns....use the correct system (all the same, not mix and match), but do it on a Gun ship (hint: for Caldari it's the Rokh) 6. If you have trouble hitting small stuff, welcome to the world of battleships...they don't gave these things a drone bay for no reason...use the annoying little things. 7. Fit to size... Battleship = large modules. BC/Cruiser = Medium modules. Frigate / Destroyers = Small...Bigger fitting is fine (so a medium shield extender on a frigate - fitting smaller...don't...).
As stated above, because of this list and some very major "must haves" on it, I doubt you are ready for a battleship and frankly am surprised it is still alive in the first place. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Besides being failfit on so many levels in this case, problems with tracking can generally be dealt by kiting - burning away from - the rats.
If rats are not at their own optimal range they tend to burn directly towards or away from you minimizing their angular speed and thus reducing tracking issues. Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

Autocannons are just plain never ever bonused on a caldari hull Ever
as posted above don't mix weapons, just get a full rack of cruise missile launchers If you must use guns, please buy a Rokh, at least thats a gunship .
plus undersized guns on the ship, umm no. |

If you have 8 weapon slots, use 8x weapon xyz
this means that each individual weapon will have an identical performance with the others, less micromanagement is good this also means they can be grouped for easier weapon management
mixing weapons is not ideal, because you will have to constantly check 'is that target in range for this weapon' for each weapon whilst your busy checking different ranges, bad things have a higher chance of happening, because your not able to concentrate on the bigger picture |

Never exceed optimal + falloff, and try to maintain optimal + 1/2 falloff or less.
Autocannons are meant to be used in falloff. [As opposed to say lasers which are meant to be used in optimal.]
Once you get the range bit handled, then tracking is the only other reason to miss.
It is common to fit projectiles on a hull without a damage bonus. They are the universal weapon system. |

He does proof a point.
Character age does NOT say anything about the player.
Characters can be bought, makes the pilot a newbie with an older character. People come and go, makes the pilot a newbie with an older character.
Bottom line, never judge the player by the age of his character. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

I'll not comment on the terrible fit, as others have already done so adequately, but instead I'll address the question of why your guns are missing. You have gunnery to 5 and turrets to 3...that's nice, gunnery only increases firing speed and turret skills only add damage. If you want to use guns, you'll need to train Motion Prediction to at least III and probably IV right away. This skill improves your tracking, making it easier to hit moving targets.
There are other gunnery support skills that will improve your optimal and fall off ranges, increase firing speed, and damage.
