Still have to turn off the grass in oblivion but I can run at 1280 X 1024 with no troubles and all the toys on. Prolly could turn the grass back on with 2 gig of ram but right now I only got the one. ----------------------- RiP is now RECRUITING!

FooB2	Posted - 2006.04.12 22:27:00 - [11] its not hardware overclocking in the sense you think it is. the card is perfectly capable of running as a 6800, the card is just bottlenecked and sold as a cheaper version. there was a big news thing over it a few months ago as they stopped the release of the card to bring out the 6800, everyone bought them and then they re-released the 6600 series so people wouldnt buy the cheaper versions and remove the bottleneck. mainly because two software-clocked 6600s in SLi were perfectly capable of standing up to the newly relesaed 7800 GTX beasts that are about ú400 a cop. its thier underhanded way of making you spend ú400 on something that you can mimic perfectly for ú140. (maybe a little extra for an sli motherboard, but like an extra ú20 or something)

I am using the giant Zalman 100% copper fan with copper heat sinks on the BGM chips. Clocked at these settings I rarely see it go above 55c. *EDIT: Just wanted to comment that my current card is a replacement since the first one was fried after about 30 minutes in once of EVE's hangars. heh Wanted to test it and hadn't noticed the stock hsf on the ATI cards were crap, hence the Zalman!! Luckily I had a can of air handy and about 10 minutes later I was back to < 55c although I was sneezing for about 45 minutes!! Current OC on the ATI850PRO agp: 573 613[1226] . Stock is 500 / 500. After 1 hour in Oblivion with FULL graphics I had the temp steady at 52c. Boobies:
