Edited by: Nessa Th''all on 12/04/2006 18:12:36 I don't know if it's been brought up before, but the character "Sarah Tilly" purports to be selling gate-to-gate region sets for around 7m on escrow, primarily in Jita, while in fact his/her escrows only contain exactly 72 instas each, regardless of region. This is obviously impossible for a region set, unless they are all very uniform pipe instas (and should in that case be advertised as such).
It's unfortunately hard to come into contact with him/her as his/her CSPA charges are set to 100k isk, and will most likely go ignored.
Just a heads-up not to buy his/her stuff unless you want to put 7m on the line for instas that may well only lead to the stations in the system you're in.
edit: Just for clarification, I would normally never report scams on escrow because if you're too lazy to click "Inspect merchandise" before you buy stuff, you deserve to be scammed. However, when it comes to BMs, it can be very hard to count them, especially when you're expecting them to number in the hundreds. Fortunately, I have a coding program which has numbered lines into which I can copy all items shown when confirming purchase of the escrow. Other people may not think of this, hence this thread. |

There have been other scammers around lately. I ran into one that appears to also be based in/around Jita. Some dude tried to scam me out of some ISK and t2 ships by convoing me and pretending to be my CEO's alt (a pathetic attempt too ). I've seen other folks on here complaining lately about scammers.
Quite a coincidence that new scammers are popping up right after Macro Media advertises he's opening a new scamming school. I'm so glad, these types of folks make Eve such a better place
So if someone offers you "omgbsitem give me 100M ISK" take it with a grain of salt.

Perhaps a "Avoid being scammed school" would be in place then? ;) -

well not much can be done really, i think anyone who wants to purchase BM's should contact the person selling and look at finding out about the persons repuation before handing over your hard earned isk.
the BM team at Red Frog has worked hard to confirm all there sets and i'm sure many of the happy customers would testify for the quality... and have no problem answering any questions people might have

Definitely a scam.
Unfortunately, the retards who made the escrow system did not make it so you could actually see the info for the SPECIFIC item you are buying. In the case of bookmarks, this means you can't see where each bookmark is.
