Edited by: Krygon on 13/04/2006 21:12:00 Been trying to play this game tonight and I keep getting bumped out as I lose connection to the server.Has anyone else encounted this problem.Happened about 4 times now. Its really annoying, but it's not worth complaining to CCP as they won't do anything except ask for more details about my computer and things I have running. It was fine last night and I havent added anything either. OK Rant over.....

Me too, i been dosconnected at least ten times in the last 5 hrs or so, dont think ive been disconnectes that many times this year let alone in one day. Could it be anything to do with the extended downtime today? Weird thing is, Every time i log back on i have new evemail. Just coincidence?? it was every time, bar none. hmm hope it fixes soon

Same problem here, since the servers came back up today have had the reliability of a skoda. Periods of excessive lag every 10-15 minutes for about a minute, and then connection to server lost about once every hour - nothing changed my end since yesterday when it stayed connected and lag free for many many many hours non stop

Same here, have been losing connection randomly since yesterday's downtime. Hoped today's downtime might change it but if anything it's worse now, five minutes without a disconnection is a good run at the moment

Hi to anyone reading this. This is the 3rd day of problems and it is now after the downtime for that day. Problems still persist with crash to desktop, then it gives me a message that I have lost server connection So it would seem that CCP have done nothing to solve this problem. I do not see that it just my computer setup/isp connection or anything that I can resolve, as the replies I'm getting to this post.
If anyone else has problems, please post here, then maybe I can collectively send the complains to whoever. Thank you.

been having same problems here too.. well not sure if the 'exact same thing', but its disconnects and game auto shuts (will change options to not reset client and see if can catch an error window or something), and its happened way too often in the past few hours.
btw, what version are you all running?
2.10.3900 here

Yeah same version..I did send an email to support and I have to say they have replied very quickly, and have been trying to get me sorted. I sent them a dxdiag report and then a Ping Plotter report.
I haven't had a reply to my latest post to them, but in fact I seem to have been able to play the game for 3 hrs last night without any problems.
All these problem may be due to my ISP giving me a rough ride over the past few days, but I'm no expert by any means
At the moment, I'm pleased to be able to play the game without any interuptions I'll post any further developments as and when I get them.

I would have to point the finger at the ISP or one of their peers that link you to the eve servers.
It can be common for one of the routers to go bad along the way and start dropping packets of information, this would affect a large group of players but most will not be affected (as has been the case). It is usually a good idea to trace the path from you to the eve servers and then send an email to your ISP asking for help. If they refuse to help you it may be time to look for an ISP that actually wants your custom and not just your money.
Remember that the path your information takes is similar to a road system, if you are trying to get from home to work its no good saying that the road from home to your friends house is fine so you must be able to get to work, exactly the same rules apply to the internet.
Its usefull if, when these problems start, you can post your ISP and a "tracert" to show how you reach the eve servers, it is then possible to see the common route and where the problems could be.
I am not having a rant at anyone, I am glad to see that eventually the porblem has sorted itself out but not all problems are eve problems.

My connection is fine now as well, possibly was the ISP, I'm with NTL in the UK and they are great most of the time but when they are not, they are terrible
Happy playing all!

That's strange, because I'm with NTL too...I know that they were doing some maintainance during the week but I wonder sometime why they do it over the holiday period
