this idea kinda comes from Serenity. the part were there is a whole chunk of space ful of reavers.
lets say in eve, few systems, lets say 10 in the whole world of eve, would have massive rats infestation. 40 bs rats at the gates or so. maybe the rats HQ in that system as well./
bit like the Xenon systems in X2 the threath game, were a whole soldar system had massive fleet of xenons.
and maybe if you do kill them the rats wille ven engage their dreads and carreirs if they have any.
what do you guys thing seriously. only 10 systems in eve if possible.

You wish alliances to become even richer? Imagine the bounties from all that, especially NPC dreads, and the fact that corps/alliances in that sector will seal off the area to have as their own private ratting grounds.

omg a big whiner. did i say anythign about bounty. and alliances will get richer regardless, so better join the team or go it alone, anyhow i dont believe they should have a bounty as they won t be pirates, but just enemys to every oen in their own space.

Well, there would have to be some sort of profit in killing the horde in these 10 systems- otherwise they would simply be places people would stay away from. Although that might be what you are aiming for, as a story-element.
Dunno- I don't really like the idea "as is"... but somehow there is a seed in here for something that could be very exiting. Worth a brainstorm, at the very least

sounds a bit like a complex for me, just as a system on its own.
other idea would be to give the pirate faction something like a home system where they got all their nice ships from. would be handled like a complex but you would need a massive fleet to even come to the last stage. (dreads and carriers needed).
would be nice if it would only spawn like every 2 weeks so that's it's actually worth to fight for it.

Massive, challenging PvE fights would be a cool addition to the game. But IMO they should not be permanent things that respawn. Make it more like an event, i.e. one time only thing that is gone forever once it's defeated. Something like this -- Serpentis sees lots of lucrative mining in a system they claim (or want to claim), so they send in a mega-fleet of NPCs like you describe, maybe even put up NPC-controlled starbases. Now if you want to go reap that system any more you have to go kill all those huge rats.
Oh and CONCORD shouldn't pay bounties for killing rats on their home turf, like killing Angels in Angel Cartel space. Doesn't make sense since CONCORD recognizes that as their sovereign area where they are legally allowed to exist. So the proposed NPC mega-fleet wouldn't be a huge bounty farm, more like a challenging obstacle you have to remove in order to exploit the resources they are guarding. Some nice loot drops would make sense though.

OMG learn how to type. Not everyone wants to be a part of an alliance and having rats without bounties makes it pointless killing them unless they give good loot like rogue drones, Which again would be a massive ISK generator.
Why do we need NPC created dangerous systems when we have real ones created by real players which believe me are far more dangerous for the average player than any complex (which is basicaly what your suggesting). EVE is about the players not boring NPC farming. _______________________________________________

Isn't this kinda what is meant top be happening in syndicate atm with serpentis?
What if:
You could gain faction standings with an NPC pirate faction so as to no longer be automatically targeted by their ships (that pirate faction's rats go white)
Then make regions like venal or curse, where pirate factions have their home bases absolutely swarming with NPC's so as to make them near impassable without a large fleet.
Then alliances beyond those regions would have to negotiate rights of passage and have some members who have good pirate faction standings. If you're in a gang (and in same or neighbouring systems) with someone who has good enough standings with the pirates, they ignore you like concord / faction ships do in empire

This is a great idea, though the 'showing white' effect shouldn't apply to ALL rats of a particular faction, only those whose job is territorial defense. Belt and plex rats should still show red no matter how high your standing.
