Hey all,
Just upgraded my trial account to active as Im really having a lot of fun so far in EVE. That being said, I screwed up quite a bit on character creation and am going to be remaking a new character which I would like to specialize in EW. I searched the forums but couldn't find the info I needed, which would be:
What race(s) would be suited best for this?
What skills aside from learning should I focus on early in my career? I don't really have much knowledge on what skillset a good EW pilot would need.
What specific role would I play in fleet battles? Is solo pvp possible?
I have a basic idea but would like to hear from you guys who have been around awhile.
I think that should cover it for now, any help would be appreciated.

for skills i guess u could train to be able to use warp disrupters, vampires etc...
hope this healps a bit

As any Race can fly Any Ship.. It realy doesnt matter. But Caldari ships tend to be very good for EW Platforms.
To Start? More or less anyone that flys a ship trains the same skills. :) The only change for you is to focus more on Cap boosting and Electronics skills. When your in your Cruiser you can realy start tanking advantage of your EW ability.
In a Fleet well.. you would be EW. ;) How you do this depends. You can jam their sensors to break lock, reduce their locking range, reduce their tracking ability or any other of a number of factors. Mainly there to make sure your allies survive as long as possible.
You can solo in PVP with an EW setup and it can work very well. Just remeber it takes away from your ability to deal damage or tank if it fails so EW ships tend to be more fragile when their EW fails.

well i think the best race is the caldari because they have the most mid slots of any race.
but being a EW ship i dont know if it would be interesting to remain in Empire space, because the pirates there are easy enough without EW... so maybe you could consider going into 0.0 space and join up with a corporation there and do EW for there.
Solo pvp with EW i think would work very well as it will make the other guy not being able to target you or run away... so just blow them away...
as for skills all the skills in electronics tab would work well. You should get energy vampires which drain the other dude's cap pretty fast, target disruptors, warp-drive scramblers, drones, missles(assault missle launchers if you're fighting frigs, heavy for cruisers, cruise missles for battleships), webifiers and things that you think would **** off the other guy.
Your basic duty in a fleet battle is to disable the electronics of a ship and make it a sitting duck so the rest of your team or even you tears him apart

Caldari are also best because they have an EW cruiser and BS, with EW bonuses. nobody else does.
try using a griffin with rockets, nos, tracking disrupts, and a warp scram (if pvp), and a web. it'll work really good in gourp pvp (orbit with AB, scram, disrupt, web, nos, let the other people's gank ships finish him off)
then try a long range blackbird with damps or ECM and heavies. same thing, longer range.
then try a scorp with a full rack of ECM. course thats a few months away.

I don't think you have to change your character. even if you think another race's ships would be better suited for the job (everyone seems to agree about caldari) you don't have to caldari to fly a caldari ship. you just need the skills, which you can find on the market (I would expect them to be cheaper near or inside caldari territory though)
So if your character is still young, buy yourself caldari frigate and train it a bit.

yeah im gallente but im flying a caracal and will be forever caldari (cuz of the missles wee ^_^)
