Edited by: Demangel on 17/09/2003 08:29:01 I'm just curious, just how much is a LOT of ISK for a player (or possibly corp) to have in EVE?
The most ISK I have ever personaly seen in EVE in one place at one time, is in the hundreds of millions (but not many hundreds mind you, and only a small fraction belonged to me personally).
How many players have a personal wallet with over 1 billion ISK in it? Does anyone in fact have this much?
How many corps have over 1 billion in ISK?
If you don't feel unsafe sharing with the group, please feel free to name the exact amount or a nice round number :)
If you don't want to share or feel this would in same way cause you harm or danger, I fully understand, I'm just trying to get a feel for what being rich in EVE really means.
Please no reference to Holdings such as BP's, I'm talking pure ISK here.
Lastly if you are an individual with more than one billion ISK, what would you reccomend to a player in a similar situation should I or others ever find myself in it?
My reasons for asking I'd prefer to keep secret, except to say, I could possibly come into a very large sum of money for a player like me, and I actually have an ironic conundrum on my hands...
If I make billions of ISK on one transaction, what is there left to do in EVE? I mean if Battleships are going for 50-100million a pop on the trade channel or from allied builders, I obviously would never need to worry about replacing one again if I had a billion or two in my pocket... the entire world of EVE short of maybe my own personaly station might be open to me, meaning nothing really to work for anymore, except to find ways to spend my money.
As for how I might attain so much on my own, I refuse to comment... Except to say that it's 100% legit, no exploiting ETC. If I in fact go through with it, I will in fact try to contact a GM to make sure I'm not taking advantage of any bug in my display or something hehehe. Then again if a single player with over 1 billion in his wallet that is HIS money isn't unheard of, and isn't from exploit... then I might not bother with contacting a GM.
So please share and brag, I need to know if it's worth joining the billionaire club, or if I should start one of my own

Edited by: Demangel on 17/09/2003 08:30:08 Thanks for the speedy response are there any individuals with over 1 billion ISK then?
Any tips on what I should do with that much if I go through with this deal?

Well you're more than welcome to donate a few hundred million to me as research funding into the Ji2 virus. :)
Seriously tho, while a huge amount of isk helps in eve, it is not the be all and end all. Have some fun, run some events, sponsor a smaller corp to do your bidding like an evil overlord.

Some corps have all 4 top tier battleship original BPs. They didn't buy that stuff with good looks (or else I'd have them ). Corps with monopolies on certain items are bound to have quite a bit of cash. I bet there are more people than you'd imagine with at least half a billion. The game has been out over 4 months, you can easily make a few million a day if making isk is what you're into. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Think 1 billion wallet, think Stavros.
Think newly bankrupt player think Durandal and go read his sob story on the 'Curse Alliance - A Travel Advisory post'. If you have 1 bill and battleships (Apocs) are around 100mill by all means feel free to make a donation to the "I'm a stupid idiot who never used his mwd till it was too late and now has no isk or ship" foundation

Agreed... making isk is retatively easy.. I can still pull over a million an hour in a thorax with 5 CU's and 5 Harvies... and that is just in scor.. Using the money wisely.. now that is a different matter... But as we know there better ways (more fun anyway) to make cash. But mining with a B/S or a good cruiser will always be more profitable

As others have said, some corporations sink their profit into new blueprint purchases. Much like we do at the BSC - money sitting about in the account does us no good. Blueprints we can build from, however, are a completely different story --

Edited by: Demangel on 17/09/2003 10:17:59 Edited by: Demangel on 17/09/2003 10:12:27 Well the DEal is off, I feel like a total moron now... someone mistyped an extra few zero's and me being drunk with ISK fever didn't really use his head.
Needless to say I am not going to be joining or starting a billionaire club... Least not yet... I knew the deal was too good to be true LOL Oh and no way was I talking about Ebaying my way to billions LOL. I hate that crap heheh
BUT my question still stands... And my thanks to those who have replied so far.
the question is:
"Whats in YOUR Wallet."
Me?
More than enough to have fun, but not so much I can't spend it all in one place and still owe hehehe.
(In the millions, but not really enough to brag about, except maybe for the fact that it was all earned solo... but even then I know a few who make more, and have more than me who solo heheh).
My biggest claim to fame is my unlimited BPC of a thorax with high production (9). So thats kinda 20+ million right there...
And yeah it's easy to make over a million an hour mining kernite for example in a thorax... Easy as hell hehehe. Just tedious...
So keep the answers comin, Maybe we should start an EVE version of: Lifestyles of the rich and famous?
I'm actually halfway serious about that by the way

Edited by: Ganja on 17/09/2003 10:16:48 I'm not sure who THE richest person in EVE is.. but I know a few ;)
I myself am over a Bil..
Stavros ofc has his own Apoc Original BP.. so he sits back and makes 15m a day guarunteed selling 1 run BPCs.. as I will do when I go buy a Raven Original BP..
but of them all..
Gladiatrix is the richest ;d 2 Bil in wallet, about 6 bil in assets.. though he makes his actual money (IRL) from EVE through Ebay.. ;)
Edit: Isn't it odd how Stavros and I, both being pirates.. can be so rich? And Gladiatrix is a friend of ours.. so I'll say semi-pirate..
Weird.. I guess its while carebears whine we make money ;P

Agreed Ganja, I just entered in a less than Lawful phase of my characters career myself. Hearing my new pals talk about what they can pull in from one good gate camp, I can beleive pirates make the most as far as individuals go :)

Pirates life can be an up and down kinda thing..
Some days are good.. some aren't, but as long as you play smart in the end the earnings are good.
For example.. we took out 3 of 4 battleships encroaching on us yesterday.. nice loot eh? =)
Loot sells.. and most Regional goofs put all the good mods on it.. so that means more money for me.. whenever I muster the time to troll into the trade channel..

Having friends give you a jumpstart after you join EVE late is also a nice way to possess a lot of ISK without actually having put the time & effort in to earn it.

i bet we could go toe to toe with techell. we have everything they have plus more of a member base. if you are counting raw isk, probably techell. if you are counting assets... itd be damn close.
