I have a suggestion for another way of handling bounties.
Today I feel that setting a bounty on a player is much the equivalent of throwing isk away. If the bounty gets high enough, the player will likely have a very close friend come and pod him - making a few isk.
Instead I suggest this: Imagine that each faction has its own bounty agents and that those agents will give bounty missions on pod pilots who has low standing with the faction and administer the bounties set by other pilots.
Players with good faction standing can then go to their bounty agents and receive a bounty mission on named pod pilots.
As the factions log who uses the gates in their factions space (at least they ought to), the bounty agent can then evemail the position of the wanted pilot to the people who has accepted the bounty mission (pilot XXX has jumped to system YYY). This should only work for the systems within factional space. Once the hunted pilot leaves faction space there will be no info until he returns.
Any given pilot would then receive bounty missions based on his faction standing and his ability. Any pilot could then accept a maximum of say 5 bounty missions at a time.
I believe this would make life A LOT more interesting for both bounty hunters and pirates.
With Kali in mind, it would even be possible to do bounty missions on known enemies of the various factions.

I had the same idea :) The main problem is - player may be ofline. May be docked. It's more probable that a baounty mission will be impossible to make for this reasons, not counting a simple risk of meeting the tarrget's whole gang.
For this reasons, it shuld be rather "kill someone from this list", not "kill that guy".

agent should give these missions when that people are online and in faction space... not these who are offline or out of faction space..

I suggested a similar idea. Basically the bounties are at least partially handled by NPC agents. Players who want to put a bounty on someone can do so at a station and the agents then puts it out as an offer but only to those who qualify. Qualifying means having a certain high sec rating and obviously not be a player connected to the one who has the bounty on him. I also suggested that Bounty Hunting can be a skill trainable much like trading and industry is now. Skilled Bounty Hunters will get bonuses to their ships and more ISK.

I like the thoughts posted.
As with regards to the online/offline issues, my idea is that bounty missions do not expire as normal missions but run until you revoke it yourself or someone actually pods the b......
Of course, it would be rather boring to sit with a bounty mission on someone who hasnt been online (or in faction space) for months, so it should be relatively free to quit assigned bounty missions.
