Could anyone send me to a link on a good cormorant build? Today i went thru a 2/10 complex with a buddy, both running in merlins.
Me= 2 125 tech 1 rails with Tungsten 2 Limos standard missle launchers with Bloods 1MN ab, 1 tech 2 small shield booster, 1 named tech 1 shield extender, and a Named 15% cap recharger Lows were 2 PDS
Did fairly well against the Cruisers if i got them one on one... but took forever to kill with me having to swap over to the NPC frigs to kill them once they got in range.... alas my buddy didnt make it with 4 cruisers shooting him.
The Cormorant has more guns... which i assume since they fire faster would = more dps vs cruisers
Is there a really good way to set it up to tank multiple 37-60k cruisers.. mostly nullifiers and annihilators?
Thanks in Advance:)

Don't use a cormorant, they suck major balls. Go for cruiser. --------------------------

Destroyers aren't for soloing and they can't take on cruisers unless your really skilled. "Big guns and heavy armor what else is there?"

cormorants suck... the are so big... cruisers eat them alive... for snacks...
Use an assault frig :P or just a hoard of kestrels :P

A sniping cormorant (with t2 ammo) and EW cormorant are nice ships, though. It hardly makes this ship a beast for everything but at least the ship has got a (narrow) role.

7 150 mm tech II's 2 named sensor boosters, 2 tracking computers 1 MAPC
+ spike ammo and good skills, ( sharpshooting 4 and destroyer 5) = just about any NPC Cruiser is dead before it gets withen range. just be careful you dob't spend more on the ammo htanthe bounty is worth.

I solo in .1 systems in my Coercer class Amarr Destroyer.
It amazes me to see poor advice regarding ship builds when someone knows nothing of what they speak.
I did not feel comfortable until I was around 450k-500k skill points with about half into gunnery skills. I still use a Coercer and am currently near 3.5m skill points.
I can handle 3 Blood Raider BC's 205k+ without much of a problem. I can solo 4 of the same BC's although it's _ALOT_ more challenging with very relistic chance of failure. For safety I'll jump on one and pop it before either warping out or engaging the next one if it's within 10km.
Coercer: 8/1/4 5x Medium Pulse Laser II 3x nos 1x AB II some tech II goodies...
The entire ship cost including tech II modules is around 8m retail.
GPU: 192 PG: 113.xx
Hitting Blood Raider cruisers 105k-200k for > 150-200 pts dmg!!
If anyone needs more help or advice regarding how I use the Coercer destroyer please feel free to eve-mail me.

To be honest, I have no problems running 2/10 or 3/10 complexes with a destroyer, so long as the enemies aren't Angels. Missiles will murder a destroyer good.
I had a Catalyst that is still alive to this day- been running for 40 days now. NPC cruisers and BCs have nothing on it. I loved my cormorant whilst I had it (Before being chewed alive by Angel cruisers and their big missiles).
My cormorant fitting was 1 Arbalest launcher w/bloodclaw lights, 1 RCU, 5 150mm compressed coil rails with antimatter. Orbit @ 15km, pound the **** out of the target. Also had a barton capacitor recharger and a 1MN burner. I could run the burner indefinitely and never lose cap- I could also drain my rails of ammo completely and reload before the cap got anywhere near used. Was a nice setup and good against Serp frigs, destroyers, cruisers and BCs.
YMMV.
Destroyers take a lot of flak because they aren't good solo ships, but when you're working with a pair or trio of frigs, or a single larger ship with bigger guns, it shines. As a solo ship, it's OK, just not good for solo PvP. Working with a gang isn't so bad though.
When I run either my catalyst or cormorant with a gang of frigs, we rarely have a problem with well-fitted pirate in things like a Rupture, etc. For rats, there are no issues in .3 space or above, whatsoever. Fly it right and you can solo 2/10 and 3/10 installations with ease like I did. ----- CEO, Astrum Contract Services Group "Through the Endless Night of Space" |

Hooray for another dest-lover. :) I may have cruisers and battlecruisers, but I love my damn destroyers. ----- CEO, Astrum Contract Services Group "Through the Endless Night of Space" |

Chuck the standard launchers.
Fit 7 guns and either forget about the additional hi slot or fit a rocket launcher with defenders in to keep any missiles off of your back.
with 7 guns firing at a target (use iridium :) nice range... and nicer damage than tungsten) you'll 1 volley most frigs, and cruisers will die fairly fast you've effectively got 2.5 frigates worth of firepower on you. Fit a shield tank or cap rechargers and a decent named armour rep if your going against EM rats (it just isnt worth shield tanking EM damage on a corm, even with decent shield skills and an active hardner you have so little shield anyway that it makes no difference). ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

That's one of the things I was wondering about...
Using Iron charges give me 21km optimal minimum but the damamge on it is so pathetic... What ammo should one use for best damage/range ratio?
