Its sad actually.
1.5 year ago, we could field 5 ravens with 2 x mwd, and able to take to inflict significant losses to 10 bs gang, without losing anyone, just because we are eve - addicts, and spent lots of time learning to fly in these beasts.
1 year ago, i was able to fit 8 x heatsinks on arma, detect unawared lone battleship using scaner. Warp in, kill him in 20 seconds, and warp away.
Now we have : 2 x mwd nerfed. Dmg mod stacking penalty. Hp of ships increased. Whats next ? I think : Eve online - turn based strategy.
Race : alliance.
Race ability : ZOMG ! Intruder. BLOB HIM !
Eve is shifting to blob pvp. Adapt, or die. I guess.

Sooo true. My bs losses in 2006 have always like 7+ ppl on mail, at least 3-4 of them are bs. If they have less, they just don't engage. Solo pvp = boring since npcs forget how to scramble, everyone is pos hugging/logging as soon as you enter local.
Also stabs are killing solo pvp. (cough rat. cough)

RAT dont fly solo,
they dont fly together,
they dont log in to face a fleet,
they dont log in to face a gang,
they use 2xcov ops and 2x rfiters to scramble a solo tech I cruiser which they then log on 111 Temepests to snipe from 150kms+.... why then the high and mighty tone?
Fact is nobody likes to lose when pvp is connected to alliance politics

I agree with what you say, mind you, but coming from you it loses some credibility...

I don't think Fed is human once hes undocked in his Tempest.
He stalks the galaxy between 5am-9am GMT and never fails to get about 5-10 solo kills including BS. Add Gyrn Fzirth to that equation and you find enemy fleets undocking just to gank the annoying gits. Wish I could attract fights like that.
Fed does die of course, attacking carriers in Vagabonds etc for which we all slate him endlessly.

I would say Farjung, but with a megathron setup that is as expensive as his, I would hope to take out two or three battleships before going down.

No one fights solo anymore.
Only one that I know who really fights solo post rmr was painball and he lost ships left and right. But managed to clock an impressive number of kills.
Personally I think solofighting is all but dead. More or less. Seems these days as soon as you come into local you either face a blob or the area is deserted in a couple of days.
The chiveric days of solofightings are gone I'm afraid.

Aye Painball is the only one I can remember who 1vsX's a lot and actually made a difference doing it. He spend months (and many HACs) laying siege to ASCN territory and was a major pain in the afterburner.
But it's all so damn subjective and 1vs1's are getting as rare as t2 bpo's these days.

No, I wouldn't class that as being unlucky.
If I died to someone set up specificly with ECM against me, I'd be cursing my stupidity for it. Hasn't happend though.

If you're willing to put up with what the lying dillusional carebear has to say in local to make himself feel good, then you don't need to succumb to the evils of blobbing. At the end of the day, it's who has the best kill stats and who gets the modules. Deny the blob that, and they can say whatever they like in local.

Actually the blobs were always there. However, now people just run, and run some more. Ever warp into 3 BS's while flying a HAc, fully expecting to die, only to watch them jump out? I have, more then once.
I think I finnaly slowed down solo PVP'ing, when I found I was flying an ishtar with 4 points of scrambling. After having ten people in a row warp off with 4 points on them, I kinnda threw in the towel for a little bit. (no I didn't make that last part up, or exagerate)
