Hi guys n girls,
Just pondered the thought of a eve movie, just wanted your input on a storyline, characters and director.
Would it be based on previous chronicles(example:gallante-Caldari war) ? 1 man's rise to power/fame ? alliance wars ?
I cant personally think of a storyline but i would like to see some involvment with the jove(maybe another war) ?
How would you film it ? (eve ingame is way to bright and colourful) id rather a more darker space theme, i.e Event Horizon/aliens/Bladrunners
Who would u choose as director ? Ridley Scott wachowski brother's paul anderson James Cameron
A few sci-fi directors listed.
Who would be characters in the film ? i.e Tank CEO(example) , who would u pick to play him and why ?
well im sure other's know more of the chronicles and events that have happened in eve, so please if you have a good story post it!
cheers

The problem with an EVE movie would be trying to fill in the casual audience with all of the game's backstory and history and depth without making it confusing.
That said, I think an animated mini-series or a line of books would be a better format for the exportation of EVE to the masses.

Unless they ran around saying "LOL" and "Align for the UJY-XQ gate" and "Does anyone docked have a sensor booster II"
That'd be great! I'd definitely pay to go and download that for free. -omg-

How about Quentin Tarantino,

Lets use Tank CEO and fake a podding in the movie. But we would have to be careful. We dont want any "accidents" to happen, do we...

Well infact you wouldnt have to show all the chronicles/history's blah blah, The main historical event that would need to be shown is the those in the eve galaxy being cut of from our own by the wormhole.
From there on in you could have 5-10 minute person speaking of how the empires formed etc(images of the system populating/goverments forming) just to get the person up to speed.
(happen's in plenty of films like that hologram of the women in serenity waffling about the reapers and how they came to be etc)

Animation for the win. TBH a motion picure could never do justice to the story.
As the first release I would like to see a revenge story based around the The Jovian Wetgrave. Several generations would be passed since Pirkotan's testing. A Minmatar raid on a Ishukone in search of Vitoc antidotes uncovered secrets behind Pirkotan's sacrifice.
The data was stolen along with it plans for the pod interfaces. The Matari fleet captain would either blackmail the Caldari State to create an antidote or they would sell the secrets to the Federation as well as implement the secrets to help spread matari pilots to more ships to fight the Amarr.
Grandson Pirktotan, having tried to stop the hack at the research station, sees the data as it is being transmitted to raid vessels and sends a transmission to his sister who is a fleet admiral within the Caldari State.
Granddaughter Pirktotan would then ensue to use her naval resource and influence to retrieve that data to see the true nature of the cover up.
That would set the action in place. Lets just say influence would involve an entire amarrian reclaiming fleet, a freelance Gallente freedom fighting corporation with a hot purple haired Gallente gal as the protaganist and a Brutor mail that is saved from the reclaimer fleet by that Gallente corporation.
A possible ending would be a clash between the reclaimer fleet and the nearly the Minmatar Fleet. Scantily Clad Gallente girls, Brutors in Black Glasses, a sexy Matari Brutor fleet commander *wink wink* and some dissenting Ni Kunni and Khanids. A chuckling Jin Mei male as comic relief and you got yourself a smash hit.
And whatever you do... you have to have atleast one scene with a frigate that has a pilot that screems 'WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE' as he reaches 4k in an OLD, never seen before frigate. Said frigate would be release in the game in an huge event in limited BPCs.
Oh... and the ending credits should spark the life into the first rogue drone that goes into deep space.
just my 0.02isk If I was you... I'd run. |

The only way to do it properly is a TV-series made by HBO. Deadwood/Rome in space. That I would watch.

A movie about people, in pods, flying around in ships, randomly killing stuff.
I don't see how it could work, and the entire Empire War would take a long time, I hear George Lucas is good at that sort of stuff though

Not a good movie. There would be too much of an impulse to sacrifice acting quality for looks. Kind of like Chronicles of Rid!ck.
Too many scantily clad fleet girls and cheesed out graphics sequences.
You could make a decent plot about the secret refitting of an old Titan by the Amarr, and stage most of the movie cloak and dagger style with ground sequences. (We finally get to see avatars )
But I think it would be hard to make a movie for a 25,000 person audience. The game wouold have to have ***** or crystal meth popularity before you could make a worthwhile film. By then, we'll be so full of WoW kiddies we will have moved along to Asteroid Mining in Space or whatever new exciting MMO we find.
But, if we did get a movie, I would need my own trailer. Hmm, a stunt double, a style coordinator, a personal assistant, a "pusherman", and Arnold would have to resign as governor to play Koba Kyogen in the film.
That's good.

an eve movie would be best made from the start of the eve history - when the eve gate got shut down and had to start from scratch. that would be the "intro", and then you would see how it is "present time" just before the caldari gallente war and minmatar amarr war. no need for us player characters.
but if player characters, then i would suggest that brad pitt, colin ferrel or johnny depp.

I would like to see an Eve movie...though the actors would only be on screen a short time, before they are placed in their pods. Then it would be just their voices. Which would lead to a movie like "Titan AE" Or those little starship trooper ones that were all computer animated.
With a little guidence from CCP, and the Dev's standing behind the director with them NERF bats, it should be a good film to see.
As for useing real people for the characters of Tank CEO, Vice Roy and some others...kind of hard to find 16-20 year old boys, that play while drunk. And then the female's of Eve....(no thanks)
Dont mind me Estuary, I am only kidding!!!!

I have thought of several storylines that would fit very well with the world of eve. But what we as players experience as the game would have to be reduced in order for a good storyline. Characters/avatars would have to dominate the screen, not the graphics. Looking forward to the evolution animated eve-movie tho.

(moved from other thread)
A movie? About EVE? YUCK! No offense, but really, it sounds like it would be pretty boring. I suppose they could take EVE, flip it upside down, change the name, rearrange a bunch of stuff, call it something different, and then it would be movie worthy.
I can see it now...
Eddie Murphy - Bob Sagat - Julia Roberts - Rosie O'Donnell
starring in...
Space Nuts of Outer Space!
A young Minmathia comedian (Murphy) finds himself out of touch and out of this world when he wakes up one morning to find himself as a new recruit of the Republica Militaristic School for the Blind. Not knowing how he got there, he meets a sagely old professor (Sagat) who shows him what it really means to fight for survival. Until one day he meets a beautiful Amallian (Roberts) and their cuturally segregated ways set the tone for a wild and socially taboo romance. The two of them go into exhile, and are later found by a Gannete representative of The Cysts of EVA (O'Donnell), who takes them under her philanthropic wing and guides them to happiness.
If you liked Space Balls, The Killer Clowns of Outer Space, or Operation: Dumbo Drop, then this movie is a sure winner!
Opens this Holiday Season!
(This motion picture has been rated STUPID by the MPAA, for gratuitous puns, physical shennanigans, and a cliche love story)

This is more of what i like to see, as for player character that was just if u wanted to add them , not something i was asking everyone to do.

saying eve would be crap as film, are you kidding me some chronicles/wars/events in eve have been great.
The space sequences, stations etc would be cgi at top quality.
Not evolutions style, as good as it is it's not realistic. ships looks like toys, space so colourful/bright should be in skittles taste the rainbow advert.
Infact one thing i hate about eve why have lights etc on ships when its brighter out in space than on a planet.
I want more dark realistic space/texturing on ships like the other eve CGI film recently being made which fits perfect for a film.(no im not that person alt or a fanboy just believe his method of brigning eve to cgi is more realistic)
Anyone here watch the new series of Battlestar Galactica ? that type of filming/cgi i would love to see.

Edit : Ofc the Dominix is old enough to make an appearence and early versions of the Tempest and rifters would make their appearence, possibly a shadow of a naglfar in a nebula. Caldari ships would strike resemblance to current models but be a tad bit more symmetrical.
i like this story also , little tweaks here n there, thanks for the input
