What is it that causes the Heavy Drones to do such little damage to NPC angel frigs? Even having the Npc webbed and hes going 61 m/s they still cant take one down solo.
Is it that thier rate of fire is slower than the frigs sheild tank? Will training even further into Drone Navigation help?
I noticed there isnt a Drone Rate of fire or Drone Tracking Speed skill. Its not really a problem, as i just use medium drones in these instances. But i was curious as to how this works.
Thanks for your time,

I've had this problem too, only with the arch angel frigs though. I've found if you nos them and web them, they go down like normal frigs.

don't forget the heavy drone's sig resolution will cause them to miss what, 1 out of 4 shots on frigs if they are moving?

i had some vey weird problems against some frigs that my t2 hammerheads couldnt take out when webbed.. i got in clean shots with 350mm's with am ammo and still couldnt break their tank very fast at all..
Then i just deactivated my guns and the Webber and boom! my drones ate em in seconds..
Ive had this happen on 3 different occasions now 2 times against fast frigs and once against a spider drone.. all of em tough as nails when webbed, but easy for the drones to kill unwebbed..
Is this a known bug or something?

Hmmm..interesting about the web, i wouldnt think that would hurt, as being speed and signature seems to be the frigs #1 defense.
Would a target painter boost thier signature for the drones as well as my guns? (in essence swapping my web for a TP for better results?) Clicky: Eve Most Wanted List

it might help out the heavies enough to make a difference, but medium and lights i dont think would benefit much at all. Prolly just better to work up a level or two in the drone support skills..

Sometimes your drone's tracking makes it so that as they orbit the tiny target, they go over their gun's tracking speed, and thus miss a lot. When you turn off the webber, the drones now has to stay behind the target, and thus reducing their transversal velocity, letting your drones hit it more easily...

I've had similar troubles. I just got my Armageddon, and I've got 3 heavies and 5 mediums in my drone bay. When the Angel Frigates/Inties get close I web and paint them, but my drones still won't hit, even when I put the mediums out. It's odd, since I tried using 5 heavies and they did some good damage to the frig, taking it down to about 1/2 armor, but then they just stop hitting. Paint them, and no solution. Very frustrating.

Some are hard to hit, webbing /unwebbing really helps, because drones will be still(lag effect from target that starts moving) and target will be moving pretty much straight away from them. But in general drones DO hit intys, but it takes time before they enter orbit behind them.

Trick to help your heavy drones kill frigs
Let drones follow the frig. Now pulse the webber on and off. Drones will start to catch up and do big damage. Make sure drones don't orbit. Let frig speed up and drones follow. Rinse and repeat : )

Yeah, I've noticed that pulsing the webber causes frequent rapid decelleration of the target, very nice for drone accuracy.

Thanks for your time,
Drones got balanced after RMR. Heavies have a hard time hitting frigs for the same reason a BS or cruiser would.
Lights will smack them around decently, and I believe mediums are also highly effective against them.
