A friend of mine bribed me to answer this riddle correctly. What is being offered is very inticing, so I want to figure this riddle out.
Any insight?
Riddle:
A detective opens the flap of a tent and finds a man on the floor dead with a gun and self-inflicted gunshot wounds. In the corner of the tent, there is a cot with a bedside table. On the table, there is a pack of cigerettes, and an empty whiskey bottle.
After searching around more, the detective finds a half a dozen wooden circuler disks, the man's personal effects, and a variety of scrapbooks and newspaper clippings. The detective found the last item strange, because the man was illiterate.
What were reasons for the apparant suicide?
Any insight, help, theories, or solutions are appreciated. I will be in your debt if my friend holds her side of the bargain.

His graphics card got fried, and he couldnt afford a new one. Realising he would no longer be able to play Eve, he decided life wasn't worth living.

Tricky one.
He was a depressed alcoholic who couldn't read, he drunk all the whisky, saw something horrid in the scrapbook, decided life sux, took out the gun and blew his brains out

I thought something similar to this also...
but it doesn't explain the wooden circuler disks.

"he was a midget circus performer, in which case his height was his livelihood, and a rival was sawing the legs off his cot off little by little every day making the midget think he was getting taller."
Answer goes to "sisserydoo" from a diff forum I go to (non EVE-player as far as I know). Hope that's the right answer, it was the best one I ever heard =P

That is right in my book. Thanks a lot.
The person who gave me the riddle said that it was about the shortest man in the world, and instead of his cot being sawed it was his cane. The logic is incorrect in that situation, because there would probably be a cane on the scene then.

there was a cane, and the original midget was blind. thats why he didn't notice the discs of wood

If the legs of his cot were being sawn, wouldn't there be a number of wooden discs that was divisible by four? Six wooden discs makes no sense when a cot would have four legs.
