As you all may know. EVE is going to be released in China not long from now. How do you think that will be? There will probably be some communication problems and ofcourse some racism so the coucasian and asian will gang up on each other. What do you think?

i play here, so i dont really care what others do, also it doesnt matter what excuse you use, people on the net naturally upset others, doesnt matter what game, and what people, theres always conflict/idiots abound.

Its on its own server to avoid the language and communication issues...

I'm also assumeing that China will have it's own forums as well(makes sense). So in reality, there should be almost no interaction between this community and theirs.
Myself, i see it as a GREAT thing. If they match the number of subscribers there as we have here, that's twice as much money comeing in. I don't know how similar the costs will be for CCP over there, but it should pump more money into CCP's coffers. And the more money in CCP's coffers, means more beer for the dev team, so we should get more wild idea's...Hopefully...

As someone else said it won't matter as there will be an individual server for China. Personally I really hate that CCP are sharding the universe for different countries, but its really the only viable way to incorporate China into EVE without a huge deal of over-population, confusion and downright racism.

as said... china will have its own server entirely separate (as in, absolutley separate, no travel or transfer between them, period) version of the EVE universe.
for those who don't know or aren't clear on it... that is so that their version of the game can be localized, run there, and adapted to comply with their local laws.
edit: personally it does not bother me. in fact I would not even consider it "sharding" as its more like an entirely different game, rather than a different "shard". IMO...

I'm not a fan of it either tbh, but they have a good point - what's the good of keeping one unsharded world when the original european and american fanbase gets nuked by 10x the number of chinese players? the default language would likely become chinese, and I'm not exactly breaking out the textbooks just yet - however, I suppose in some ways I can now understand how people that don't speak english as a first language here feel.

I hope CCP makes it big in China. With the additional cash revenuw, we can all expect better infrastructure and improvements in the game.
And of course, all staff gets a pay rise and bonus! :)
