If you have to recover from heavy DPs, probably not, but a larger SB runs alot longer than an XL, so odds are you'd be fine because you'd have it running longer. 4 LOM	Posted - 2006.04.16 21:37:00 - [10] I run a gisti b-type large. i prefer the large boosters because my cpu is so damn tight. i also run a gisti b-type boost amp and gisti b-type hardeners. I would run an extra large if i had the cpu for one. but my cruise launcher II's and bcu II's and pdu II's really eat into my cpu (i run 2x large smartbombs as well, rarely use them but when i do they are well worth it) so my cpu usage is like 97 or 98% might drop one of the smart bombs for an xl booster... but i dont really need it ever. i used to find i would run out of cap long before my sheilds were gone, so no real point in a large since the cap efficencies are the same. but with the gisti hardeners i dont run out of either anymore. Anyways long story short. if your fitting can use an xl its prolly better but if you dont have the cpu or pg then a large works fine. only reason its better is incase you get alot of damage tossed at you real fast. because over time they are the same cap effiency wise and 9/10 you run out of cap first (or i do) Originally by: Twilight Moon of course you have nice hair. I see them on escrow selling for up to 800 million isk (x-type XL SB) and I'm thinking it'll be faster to loot one than to find the money to get one. IMHO an XL SB is better than a large : if you use hardeners and a boost amp, it means you only need to run your XL SB sporadically (I actually put mine on manual instead of autorepeat). Technically, a Raven with a good pilot has over 9000 shield HP : use hardeners and that can last you a long time. To give you an idea : tonight I just tanked a spawn which included 3 gurista BS each firing torps at me. Due to my hardeners they only did 92 damage per torpedo. My XL C5L with a standard boost amp "cures" 624 HP in 4 seconds : that means these BS would have had to fire at least 7 torps every 4 seconds before they'd outdamage my shield booster. And they'd have had to fire a whopping 103 torps after I ran out of cap, just to kill my 9500 shield HP. Of course, they got blasted of the sky long before my cap even fell below 50%. I believe if I used a combo of Gist XL SB and Gist boost amp (cures 924 HP every 4 seconds AND uses half the cap) I'd be able to tank Darth Vader and the whole fecking evil empire Helen Originally by: Kittamaru Bravo Helen! Faction spawns, complexes, kill a mission-whoring/npcing ship, or some uber rich pvper who flies faction-fitted ships (this might be abit hard though ).
