I didn't see anything, and I would have thought there would be an 'Easter Surprise' thread going if we did get presents.
Perhaps we could celebrate some other events, like Chinese new year, with 100 units of noodles for a noodle launcher or something. I know we've missed chinese new year, but you see what I mean.
Perhaps some presents relating to other RL cultural events, not just Christmas. :-)

Theres no obligation to give us anything special for easter or christmas or anything, just be happy the server is up and that they didn't decide to take easter off :)

I saved my snowballs and shooters. I think they are nice little collectibles (like the frozen corpses I have). May not be worth much, but I take pleasure in having them.

Although I agree the comment was probably unneccesary, it is true that most of the macroers are Chinese. To hold this against all Chinese people would be racist, but its really not racist to say that most macroers are Chinese. Because they are.

It would be terribly racist to observe that the guy from China selling 400M bundles of ISK on eBay might be a Chinese ISK farmer, even though he is in China and is selling ISK.

yes, my 120million now buys a raven and insurance, not just the raven. on the other hand, philosophy has lead to a lot of players being griefed (miners in high sec, chinese players) simply because of what they are ingame.

Hey now... the prevailing defense is that "you can't tell those farmers are Chinese". So how are people being griefed for their nationality? No one has any way to tell that unless the player discloses it.
Even being bad at English doesn't make one surely Chinese - just take a look around at these forums. There are plenty of people who speak their native tongue as poorly as if it were a second language.

yes, but these people are griefed on the basis that they are ISK farmers. If i beat someone up for being black but they are asian, doesn't stop it being a rascist assault. People with chinese names who speak perfect english are having problems, and people who can't speak english very well, but may not be chinese are having problems. How does this stop it being philosophy causing the issues?

from what i hear a lot of farmers are european.
As for generalising all farmers/macros as chinese is a bit racist and veery unfare after all im european and i use macros for final fantasy online when i played it.

well illd just like to point out after looking at the first 3 pages on eve bay, the main companys selling isk:
1 came from china, 1 from honk kong, 1 from canada, 1 from USA, 1 from UK, 1 from germany
so its a rather stupid stereotype, and racism of all types have no place in eve, the forums or ingame...if you want to run around wearing a white sheet burning cruicifixes...by all means do that in RL...leave it out of eve (and yes as you people are so keen on critisising people on a stereotpye...i thought i would join in to)

I can't remember any religion related events in EVE ever.

Although, I agree completely that racism has NO place in EVE (or in the world, for that matter), as I primarily enjoy MMOs because they are a place where one can escape from prejudice based on color, sex, or even a disability, I strongly agree with this statement:

I am still incredulous that a harmless thread about easter eggs in game managed to get hijacked by the Chinese farming argument, which has appeared on the forums once or twice before.
Whilst pleased that the issue was sorted out and the apology from that poster, it does not excuse the initial post.

The launchers and snowballs are unrelated to any religion unless I missed some hightec religions in colder climates. Been a great winter holiday event though.
The snowballs have been delivered by Santa and his pack though and she had a red nose on the tip of the sledge.
Please correct me if I am missing something. Chinese new year includes partying, music, lampions, kites, fireworks, but I don't think noodles are a part of it besides being food?
I love to get more international culture into my life but you have to keep religious stuff out of an internationally played game unless you want to deliver a lot of events and the corresponding background.
