Hey, im trying to decide whether or not to go for the Temepest BS or Megathron BS? I've seen the Mega do some powerful damage in many cases and has proved to be a powerful ship in the game, but I also like the long-range of the Tempest. There are many pros and cons of each ship and I would like you guys input before I decide. Thanks

For team pvp, tempest all the way, for something else, megathron is probably better, ie solo pvp and pve.

solo pvp atm definitly tempest wins imo
group pvp it depends, some would say tempest , others megathron

I personally favor the Tempest but it's a lot more skill dependant and the Megathron albeit needing some love is awesome.

Megathron is quite fun, but tempest is more Versatile when it comes to setups i think...
If you have the skills to fly them both and use their modules then you might as well try one. If you dont like it sell it and get the other. Its best to decide what ship is best by yourself rather than asking other people. Your oppinion may be different.

they are both excellent ships and you will not be disappointed with either. however keep this in mind: if you train gallente BS up you will get the domi, but if you train mimnatar you get the typhoon

key thing with projectiles is skills, you dont break even with the other bs's until you have minmatar bs lvl 5 as, so you must be higher skilled to fly one on an equal par with others due to projectiles needing two bonuses to be effective, situation dependant ofc.

Train both up and you get a Vindicator 
Joking aside, both will perform admirably if you have the support skills to back them up.
If I had the isk I'd get one of each.

I have both with all t2 guns and mods
Mega is a better sniper so is very useful when sniping and accuracy are required. Both are bout the same usefulness in small gangs pretty much, mega has better dps where temepest has better burst dmg.
In fleet it's all bout the tempest and "alpha strike" the ability of several tempest to 1 volley an opposing bs. Let's face it, if they are dead before they can even click warp then you can't beat that.

pretty evenly matched tbh
atm tho temp has the edge for both pvp and anything else as you can alter damage types.
and i believe blasters are slightly gimped atm.

Tempest is better then the meg in everyway tbh. People saying "Oh but the mega Pwns upclose!" haven't a clue about what they are talking about.
Megas with blasters lack the cap and grid to fit let alone sustain an effective tank as well as t2 ions,so your left with Electrons which have crummy dps.
Where as the temp has a myriad of different kits for both long and short ranges. An Ac temp with 2 L nos and a strong sheild tank will beat a mega,drop the tank for ewar and then the situation for the meg is even worse.
At long range the temp is the king of the alpha strike,his dps sucks but when he does hit you,your pretty much kinda screwed.

Keep in mind that the devs are about to change blasters -- maybe they'll improve damage, make their range slightly better, or lower the fitting requirements, who knows. But if the blaster improvements are really substantial, then Blasterthron setups will get a boost too.

Mega is getting some love within next patches and so are Tachyons. I wouldnĘt be surprised if CCP nerfs TempestĘs alpha strike even more since they doesnĘt seem to like ships with high volley damage anymore. So as long as its uncertain what happens to projectiles I would train either Gallente or Amarr BS.

Hmm thats only wreckings m8 wot about DPS a tempest with 1400's does alot of dmg in 1 hit but over time a megathron would hammer the tempest

nah the minmatar race got that nerf when EVERYTHING got a flat 25% hp increase.
