Trollboy Nono here.
Use that superior knowledge of yours, as I have none, and please explain this....
- 'Real' Lag (rubberbanding) in Eve is caused by a spate of port 135 worms, which will decimate any network they touch (our hospital just got taken offline for 4 days (not my fault)) because of nachi, and some **** ignoring our security policies.-
Your saying 'Real' Lag (whatever that means) rubberbanding in EVE is caused by port 135 worms and only this? While I might not be the most knowledgeable person on a network I don't think 135 port worms have been running wild on the EVE servers for the past half year or so. I don't doubt these worms will decimate any network they touch but your statement generalizes that the only problem here with rubberbanding and lag is ONLY related to this.
This made me laugh. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but you made the statement in public not I.
Call me more names if it makes you feel better. Go on get it all out. Breeeeeeath.

<edit> - quote removed, as it was a bit unnecessary.
Well, for starters, I never claimed superior knowledge.
I also didn't specify that it was only these virii causing the problem. I am fully aware that the rubberbanding problem preceeded the emergence of these worms, but a little rubberbanding is no real problem as far as I'm concerned. I'm talking about the sort of crap I had to try to work through last night. I was farming a 4 pirate spawn, and had to wait (on average) about 10-15 seconds between each action, and that was only if the server even got my commands in the first place. It was atrocious. at one point it got so bad, the pirates double spawned.
The 'mild' rubberbanding is just a general problem that you are bound to get when playing online games, and I didn't really think it was severe enough to warrant a mention. A couple of times in the past it has been 'bad' but last night reached levels I have not personally witnessed, and would prefer never to witness again.
All that aside, maybe I wouldn't have had to resort to name calling had you worded your post a little better, and not made it sound like you were taking the ****.
Also, don't worry too much about my feelings. .

You have to admit
"EVE's got worms" did sound kinda funny.
On that note I don't know about last night in particular as the rubber banding and lag has been pretty bad for the past weeks after the servers are up for more the four or five hours and get worse as time goes on. Maybe due to attacks maybe not, but the same has been around for a LONG time just not as bad. I remeber Yuev(spelling) posting about it long ago. It was quite humerous.
As for post patch? Thats a lot of worms. Pathetic is the word that comes to mind. Maybe its all the cancelations again clogging up the system.

ok, I admit, 'Eve has worms' did tickle me.
As for tonights lag, it doesn't seem as bad as last nights. So far.
But I have a list of issues already, and I've only been playing for 20 minutes .

Oh dear I never did forsee that by exposing Drunkenmaster as Yarr and confirming his criminal tendencies that I would also in the process make him rude. He was always one of my favourite posters as I sat at work bored.
